A very unusual place to stay. Functional but highly creative. Deserted but the parking was full. Super friendly reception and waiters. Good food. Recommended.

Troina clings to a hill, and certainly gives you a gentle workout as you wander about this beautiful town. B and B Al Borgo is right in the middle, with a newsagent, tobacconist, cafes, bars, mini super markets and restaurants all within a few minutes walk. Our check in was great - technologically the owner could let us in and give us directions to our room, despite us being early, and not present This was great! The house is historic, traditionally decorated, and laid out, with lots of interesting artefacts representing the agricultural and roman heritage of the town. The furniture is antique, with beautiful spotless bed linen. As well as a room and (external, but personal to us), bathroom, there was a lounge for guests, with fantastic coffee maker etc. the balcony was great. Our host was super, made sure we were comfortable, and gave us ideas about what to see and where to go.

Location and the history of the place is outstanding. Decor with antiques everywhere was great. Host Salvo was brilliant. Salvo was a fantastic host, prepared a delicious pasta for me and we chatted away into the night over a bottle of local wine.
