Our room was ready when we arrived, but we were not allowed to check in until the official check in time. This may be a Japanese cultural standard. We were surprised by it. In our experience, usually hotels let us check in early if the room is available. Other than that, we had a good time.

Conveniently located from Hiroshima Station. You don’t even have to cross at a crosswalk since there is a bridge that connects from the station exit over the street. Then you can go down stairs or down on elevator. The property is maybe like a seven minute walk, so still easy even with bags. The hotel is on the north side of Hiroshima station, even so it’s still an easy walk to get to the busses and other sights that might be closer to the south side of Hiroshima station. The hotel lives up to Daiwa Roynet standards to me. Nice bath and shower, comfy bed and good AC.

It's the first military target of a nuclear weapon in history, but now it has become one of the most beautiful cities in Japan. Atomic bomb dome represents that indelible part of history, today's Hiroshima has left such a wonderful neighborhood in the touch of generations of well living beings.

Wonderful city with a painful past.
Wonderful city with a painful past. Thought provoking museum and did give me time to reflect. Lots to do and see in the surrounding areas. Use public transport as cheap and easy to use (buy a one day ticket and visit the local island by ferry)
Great nightlife for everyone’s taste
Definitely recommend a minimum one of 4 nights

Hiroshima is a beautiful city.
Hiroshima is a beautiful city. I love Tokyo and Osaka, but parts of both of those cities can be too crowded for me. Hiroshima has all of the things I like in a larger city (shopping, coffee shops, restaurants) but is less crowded and more laid back. There aren’t the extensive subways and trains found in the larger cities, but we were able to easily get around on the streetcars, buses and walking. I always enjoy experiencing cities on foot.

My final destination is the small islands on Setouchi sea, Tobishima sea roads. Hiroshima city has many choices to move to the islands. The scenery of Setouchi is my favorite place in Japan. Of course, Hiroshima has the world heritage, Atomic bomb dome and Miyajima, they are must items to see in Hiroshima. However, the peaceful scenery of Setouchi sea is also make you refresh.

Although one of the lesser known tourist destinations in Japan, Hiroshima has its own unique charm. History buffs can experience the Peace Memorial, whilst foodies get the opportunity to sample Hiroshima's famed Okonomiyaki and their delicious oysters! There's also some great shopping options that offer items you won't find in Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto. Definitely recommend adding Hiroshima to your Japan itinerary!

A 3 night stay was, in my opinion, the perfect length to see...
A 3 night stay was, in my opinion, the perfect length to see everything in Hiroshima city (Mainly the castle and peace garden), as well as offering the option to travel to Miyajima for a day. There is a tram which costs only 300 yen to get to ferry port (Miyajima-guchi) to get over to the island. I can also very much recommend trying out Hiroshima style Okonomiyaki from any shop in the Okonomimura, as well as the Hirsohima Style Tantanmen from any shop; you wont be disappointed.
Twin room was relatively spacious. Outstanding rooftop balcony to look over the city, the hotel provides you with 'knot coins' - I think it was 3 per night of your stay per person and these can be used for snacks and drinks at the bar. We were able to have 2 cocktails with those.
5 minute walk to the peace museum and restaurants. Approximately 10 minute taxi journey from Hiroshima station.
Hotel has a coin laundry available.
We booked Mitsui Garden Hotel as it was located very centrally and looked clean with decent enough services. What we got though exceeded our expectations greatly. The staff who helped us check in on our first night were extremely helpful and friendly, and the views, overall service and cleanliness were all amazing. I will definitely be staying here again if and when I return to Hiroshima.
Lovely welcome and very helpful staff. It’s a lovely traditional hotel with a very warm welcome. Amazing room. We will never forget our stay here. Hiroshima is a lovely city
