Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kamakura-Ofuna Higashiguchi

Hotel in Kamakura

Located 2.5 miles from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Sotetsu Fresa Inn Kamakura-Ofuna Higashiguchi provides rooms with air conditioning in Kamakura. Comfortable business style hotel. Bed was comfortable and the room came with lots of amenities - coffee, teas, lovely shampoo and conditioner. You could take extra little amenities from the reception area such as sheet masks and bubble bath. Overall, very comfortable hotel, close to Ofuna station, good value for money.

Kamakura Prince Hotel

Hotel in Kamakura

Located at the popular Shichirigahama Beach, the Kamakura Prince Hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool, a golf range and rooms with panoramic ocean views. We (my wife and I) spent 10 days at the Kamakura Prince Hotel and could not have been happier with the location. The view from our room window was magnificent (see photos) and we were lucky that the weather was perfect for viewing Mount Fuji and Enoshima every day. The hotel was not cheap but for those views we would have been happy to pay double the price. Our room was comfortable and reasonably large, and there was a small balcony which added to the charm. There was an excellent supermarket nearby, where we bought inexpensive but delicious food for our lunches. The nearest station (on the famous Enoden sightseeing line) was Shichirigahama, about a 10 minute walk away, but the walk was along the seafront so very pleasant. We were able to get to Kamakura and to Enoshima easily for sightseeing, and we also had a trip on the Shonan Monorail from Fujisawa to Ofuna, which was fun. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the hotel and would recommend it providing you are happy to pay that bit extra for the location and views. However, I am told we were lucky with the weather and in summer especially it can be hard to see Mt Fuji at all, so be careful and be prepared to be disappointed if you don't catch a glimpse of that wonderful mountain.

Kamakura Park Hotel

Hotel in Kamakura

Located right next to the beach in a historic Kamakura area, Park Hotel features chic European décor, French and Japanese cuisines and a relaxation spa salon. The hotel was within walking distance of everything. We were there in the same time as typhoon Hagibis, the staff were very friendly in helping us locate transport away from the coast. They made a real scary time, seem not so scary.

Guest House Kamakura Zen-ji

Kamakura

Guest House Kamakura Zen-ji in Kamakura provides adults only accommodations with a shared lounge and a garden. Zen-ji is by far the best place I’ve ever stayed in Japan. The traditional decoration and house design is a great treat to the traveling soul. On top of all that is the host Hide’s great reception, helpful tips and all around politeness. Thank you su much for everything Hide! Should I return to Kamakura in the near future, I‘ll be thrilled to stay once again in Zen-ji.
