Located at the popular Shichirigahama Beach, the Kamakura Prince Hotel features a seasonal outdoor pool, a golf range and rooms with panoramic ocean views. Spaciousness, great staff, cleanliness, great location.
Located right next to the beach in a historic Kamakura area, Park Hotel features chic European décor, French and Japanese cuisines and a relaxation spa salon. We got a Japanese style room, which is what we were hoping for. The ocean view was really nice. We ate at the Japanese restaurant and they were very accommodating. I had a crab shabu course and they prepared a couple vegetarian dishes for my husband. Dinner was a bit pricey but very tasty and looked amazing. Our waitress prepared everything and chatted with us for a bit, then gave us time to just enjoy things ourselves. The staff were very friendly; service was top-notch, as is often the case in Japan. It's located in between two stations, so it's easy to get to. When we checked out, they called a taxi for us so we could go directly to Kamakura station, which ended up costing about 1500 yen.
Located within 1.7 miles of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and a 2-minute walk of Hasedera Temple, CASA Kamakura Espresso PUB&BED has rooms with air conditioning and a private bathroom in Kamakura. Small new place with enthusiastic and helpfull staff/owners. Location is great to explore around in Hase and Kamakura. Great coffee!
Located in Kamakura, Zen Vague is 1.8 miles from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine and has facilities like fitness center and garden. I was amazed this place was as free / empty as it was. It's about 1min walk from the beach (watched a sunset and sunrise), the place looks amazing and is very clean. The facilities are good although I wasn't hanging around the place too much during the day to try out the exercise / meditation rooms. The beds are comfy. My host that night (I feel horrible for forgetting his name) was very friendly and spoke great English (my Japanese is non-existent).
Located in Kamakura, 2.2 miles from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, Guest House Kamakura Zen-ji has rooms with air conditioning. This 2-star guesthouse offers a garden. It was just want I needed, no more no less. The guy speaks English and is super friendly. Train is about 8 min walk away, and the beach is less than that. WiFi is always good, AC too. He will recommend you spots to visit and eat. Will stay here again for the heck of it.
Located just steps from Yuigahama Beach, Inn By The Sea Kamakura is a cozy guest house-style inn featuring Japanese-style guest rooms with free WiFi access. The host was super nice and accommodating! Location is sweet and the house / room was perfect.

We did a hiking course around the perimeter of Kamakura and visited many temples and shrines. We loved the mix of nature and history. I wish we had spent more than one day in Kamakura so we had time to go down to the coast. The main shopping street was fun to check out as well.
It is a very historical city with so many different temples and shrines that I didn’t have enough time to see everything. There are so many different kinds of cafés and restaurants from all different countries that you can choose from. Most people walk to places but there are many buses as well that can take you to these places. The only problem is with the buses they don’t state where they’re going so you will need to ask the bus driver. Some bus driver speak English so they can help you. I really enjoyed going to the temples and shrines and getting the Goshion stamp from that temple.
Beautiful old capital just one hour from central Tokyo. Many old temples with beautiful gardens to visit. I went to Great Budha, Hokokuji, Hasedera this time in Kamakura and previously Kenchoji in Kitakamakura.
Strolling and eating on Komachi-dori, taking old train Enoden line to visit temples, viewing cherry blossums, short hiking trail above town (a little muddy and with elavation changes). Enoden line offers a 600 yen ticket that allows off and on access to train for the day, well worth the price if you intend to get off to enjoy two or more stops along the way. If in season try the shirasu at one on the many fine local eaterys, just look for where lines are forming.
The great buddha was an incredible sight and very thought provoking but our favourite was the quiet beauty of Engakuji with its garden and trees. Buses and trains make it easy to get around. We did use a taxi when we had luggage to move.
As the old capital of Japan, it offers rich culture and beautiful architecture. Kamakura's Big Buddha, Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Hase Temple are must-see. Kenchoji temple is my favorite Zen temple in Kita-Kamakura. Local laquored wood crafts (Kamakura-bori) are beautiful. June is a beautiful time to visit with hydrangea and irises blooming in the temple gardens.

Overall good place. I got there in the morning, and they let me put my bag in the room. The receptionist was really nice, and could speak very good English. The hostel is in a great location, 2 minutes walk from Hase Station, and two minutes from the beach. They server really good free breakfast, with bread, jam and butter and rice.

The landlady is an English native speaker which was great. The location is great, a few steps from the beach and maybe 1min from Hase train station which is the access to the Great Buddha and Hasedera shrine. Breakfast is good, the rooms are simple Japanese style. You can have a Japanese bath as the Japanese do which is great.

The owner is friendly and gave me very useful route for sight seeing here. And also he can speak in English very well. No worry about communication. The house is decorated in Japanese traditional style. Clean and quite. It will be a good choice to stay when stopping by Kamakura.

Good location: the ryokan was near the station, near a supermarket and near the beach. The room was clean and the futon was comfortable. The shared bath can be reserved so you could have a private onsen experience.

Traditional Japanese style, all renewed. A beautiful living room and space to relax in the dormitory. So close to the beach. Kazuki and Mochi are great persons, so kind and welcoming. I will be back to your place.

We slept well. The house is pretty, though a but run down. The squat toilet seen in the booking.com images has been upgraded with a seat, but it's still not a modern japanese toilet.
