Kampt is a nice little town to visit to get away from the madness in Phnom Penh. It has a very laid back vibe and feels safe. Quite a few good options for dining and a wide variety of accommodations. Enjoyed three days just outside of town. We used it as a hub to visit Bokor National park, La Fontaine pepper farm and the salt flats via a scooter. It was hard to see so many alcoholic older expat men living there. I did go into one of the girly bars with a friend one night and they let you drink your beer without to much bother. if you showed and interest in them of course then they would start the hustle on ya but otherwise they let you be. I loved the trip to Bokor Mt. It's beautiful temples and history .Totally loved seeing those healthy happy Silver gibbons in their natural habitat. I was getting addicted to Tuk Tuk rides ,they were so much fun and very cheap. But it was good to be able to give the very skilled drivers a tip. They were so helpful and courteous.The river cruise was beautiful and although it was the wrong season to be spotting fireflys ,it was very serene and lovely to see other resorts and quaint little buildings from the boat. Not much Birdlife though.I thought would be cormorants and ducks.And I'm kind of glad that roasted Rat wasn't on my agenda😮Guest review byWhelan - 8.0
Kampot may not be a big town, but it has plenty of things to...
Kampot may not be a big town, but it has plenty of things to offer: cruising on the river, kayaking, visits of pepper plantations, trips to nearby Kep or to the mountains... We could have easily spent another day or two in Kampot. The atmosphere dowtown is lively, especially at night, with many restaurants, bars, night markets etc.Guest review byBettina

A free tuk tuk shuttle to middle of town (starbucks) from morning to night makes it easy to get there for meals. Chhai organised our Phnom Penh one way transport to Kampot at a very competitive rate as well. Pool is fantastic and a welcome relief from a hot day of touring at the Pepper Farm and Kep. The staff were wonderful throughout our stay, very friendly and helpful. Whilst the hotel is out of town, the staff would always provide a lift into the centre and using Grab was simple to get back.
