Located in Moroni, Hôtel La Grillade features a garden, bar, tennis court, and free WiFi. There's a restaurant serving African cuisine, and free private parking is available.

1. Location: much closer to town than other so called "resorts", and it is safe to walk around outside of the compound. Watching sunset right outside of the front gate every evening is such a joy!
2. Service: Manager Mouhammad is very helpful. From arranging tours, transferring to and from airport, and setting up much needed internet, he can do it all, and most likely cheaper, faster, and less stressful than doing it yourself. Keep in mind the number of locals that speak English in Comoros are very few.
3. Budget: Very affordable, at least 50% less than the "resorts" further away from town center.
4. On-site restaurant
Facing the beachfront, Chalets Chomoni offers 3-star accommodations in Chomoni and has a garden, terrace and restaurant. There is free private parking and the property has paid airport shuttle...

Unfortunately Moroni and the whole island have a very big garbage problem. There seems to be no collection of anything at all. Everything ends up in the forests and in the sea. The roads are all surrounded by car wrecks. The town of Moroni is full of garbage as well. What a difference to all the other islands around (La Reunion, Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar).

The inhabitants are invariably nice friendly and helpful (french a must), and are also unusually good looking.
As i said the city itself holds no attractions- even the market is shabby and has no locally made handicrafts.
