Residence Bassac in Champasak has a garden and a bar. This 4-star hotel features modernized French Colonial architecture, a concierge service and free WiFi. There is a restaurant. I reckoned travellers who choose to make a stop in Laos are those who'd appreciate a more authentic side of SE Asia -- staying a night or two in Champasak would definitely be the answer to that . Residence Bassac is a great addition to Champasak's tranquil setting; with its Champa flower tree -- making the one-street town even more picturesque than it already is. The hotel has certainly wowed me on so many levels --the friendly staff, the tasteful design of its backyard, the attention to details in the room, etc. And after travelling for quite a bit around Southeast Asia, my cravings for non-Fried rice/noodles related food is greatly satisfied here at their restaurant. I was surprised to learn that they make a lot of their food from scratch, homemade breads and jams, ice cream (def try the pandan and passionfruit flavor!), and not to mention their wide selection of wood oven pizzas... If you have time, order a glass of wine and sit by the Sala, where you could appreciate the sunset overlooking the Mekong, or even catch a few shooting stars if you're lucky :)
Nakorn Cafe Guest House has air-conditioned rooms in Champasak. Featuring a concierge service, this property also has a restaurant and a playground. Free WiFi and room service are available. A huge thanks to Jack, his wife and their great staff. Our stay couldn’t have been nicer. They arranged a Tuk-tuk tour of the sights. He secured bus tickets for us to 4,000 Island and completely explained the whole proceedure. He took us to the ferry and then waited while the ferry sputtered a few times to make sure we we properly on our way across the river. Jack and his wife speak four languages fluently, English, French, Thai and Lao. We stayed two nights which is long enough to see the sights, but we easily could have spent longer just to relax. There are a couple of ways to get here from Pakse. 1). Take the bus, ferry and Tuk-tuk to the Guesthouse. Tiring. 2). Stay at a superb hotel, Le Jardine, in Pakse. Enjoy a nice breakfast, walk to the local mall for some last minute shopping, spend an hour at their pool. And then after lunch, enjoy the AC comfort of the hotel van to take you direct to the door of Nakorn Guesthouse. Very civilized!

Great place for a short visit. Lovely ancient temple complex, amazing views of the Mekong river, and a very good spa that supports the local women. Close to the Bolevan Plateau for visiting waterfalls and tasting excellent Lao coffee.

The hotel team is very kind and trying their best to help. The room are fantastic and comfortable. Nothing I could compare to in Southern Laos. The restaurant is also excellent. Simple and not over pricy. Don't hesitate to have a drink along the Mekong. Why to go elsewhere? But the best is that they are close to Chez Maman shop. A place not to miss. If you go there don't spend only a night. Take your time.

Relaxing place. Beautiful and clean room, Nice garden setting with the mighty Mekong directly at your feet. Various places to sit, read and relax, lots of privacy but the friendly owners and their team are always around to help you when needed. Or... to serve you with good food and drinks. Bicycles for rent. Highly recommended, I would definitely stay there again if returning to Champasak.
