Located in Saint Martin, 0.9 mi from Anse Marcel Beach, Villa Jwi Lavi Boutique Hotel provides accommodations with a shared lounge, free private parking and a terrace. Great view, new, clean and modern room. The super fresh croissants, jams, and juice provided for breakfast were a lovely touch.
Featuring an outdoor pool, Résidence La Plage Orient Bay by La Conciergerie FWI in Saint Martin offers accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking for guests who drive. Loved the location and the incredible view. We have been to Orient Beach multiple times and this was our favorite spot for convenience to the Village. Be prepared to be on top of the "nightlife" but after a day at the beach the extra ambience was never a problem.
Located in Saint Martin, 0.8 mi from Grand Case Beach, Over The Hill Residence features accommodations with a garden, free private parking, barbecue facilities and a terrace. The apartments are well stocked. They have everything you could ever need and more AND BERNICE IS AN ANGEL. Excellent accommodation. Would 100% recommend and return.
Located on a private beach in Cul de Sac Bay, Studio Stmartin offers free kayaks and a beach-front swimming pool. Pinel Island is a 10-minute boat ride away. My college friend and I have met up 8n many destinations since 2009. We wanted a short relaxing vacation with beautiful beaches. Bruno and Carole are both smiling beautiful faces with warm personalities. If we needed anything they were quick to respond. The property is great to relax by the water and pool with beautiful view towards Pinel Island. They offer kayaks included. They have 2 friendly well trained dogs that were adorable personalities. The terrain has beautiful cacti and aloe. There are horses, goats, and donkeys thru the hills. Very charming. The studio was tasteful and clean. We enjoyed our morning coffees with sugar birds.

La Plenitude features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Saint Martin, 1.1 mi from Grand Case Beach. Innkeeper was a gracious host and our time spent was enjoyable. There was trouble with the water system on the island and considerable construction. Host made sure we had plenty of fresh water. Convenient to both Marigot and Grand Case. Would highly recommend to those trying to avoid the resort crowds.
we have vacationed in SXM for 18 years-due to the problems of recovery after the hurricane we may need to find another paradise for awhile-recovery has been very slow-it's now almost 3 years after the storm and not much has changed -sadly-the islands only industry is tourism-they need to step up or they will loose visiters!
This was our first visit since Irma. We were overjoyed with our renovated 2BR 2 Bath condo at the Simpson Bay Resort and we were greeted warmly and politely by everyone that we came in contact with during our 2 week stay. We cooked most of our meals in the full kitchen of our condo, doing our shopping at the Carrefour supermarket in Philipsburg. Remember to bring your coupon to get 5% off! Our big activity was a 3 night stay on the island of Saba! We took the Ferry thru Aqua Mania and it was great! Remember to take your drugs the nite before! Saba was an experience that I will never forget! We drove all around St Martin (both sides) to check out the places that we used to frequent. To be blunt- St Martin is still a long way from recovery. Simpson Bay was active with many shops open. Maho looked to be recovering nicely with the Casino doing reasonably well. I lost my limit within 1 hour and skipped out of there before serious damage was done to my budget. Grand Case was a mess! Marigot was a little better. The road to Orient Beach was upsetting and without any donkeys! The road to Oyster Bay was in better shape, but the Marina was gone! I mean gone, as in no longer there! I was too distressed at the sight of all the rubble along the road to enjoy the beaches at Galion and Dawn and the weather turned too stormy to fly or sail, so we cut our road trip short. I was happy to infuse a little income into their economy and I hope to return soon.. So should you! They need us!
Want to live there some day! Beautiful island, great people. We stayed at the Royal Palm Beach Resort in Simpsons Bay. Great 2 bedroom hotel/condo. In one word... Great! Several great restaurants within walking distance.
I've been twice and definitely say that it's one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean! Whether on the Dutch or French side there is always something to see and do! Absolutely breath taking beaches and cute little places for a drink of a bite to eat!
Small island, takes 2 hours to circle it by car. Amazing beaches in the north of the island, especially Happy Bay (no motorized access), Friar's Bay, Anse Marcel. Great food in Grand Case. Orient Beach has a nude strip but you can meet nude people pretty much anywhere. Simply - local supermarket has cheeses and meats imported from France- yummy! Wine is cheap and if you bring US dollars you can pay 1 to 1 in the French part.
Of all the Caribbean Islands, Sint Maarten/Saint Martin is the most friendly and accepting of gays/lesbians. The gay clothing-optional beach is Cupecoy and is very nice, if there is any sand there! (The sand comes and goes with the waves). The French side used to be a bustling town of shopping and food, but it appears that after the economy went bust, many shops went under and recovery has been slow. Orient Beach (Orient Point) is a fantastic clothing-optional beach on the south side and a typical Caribbean beach (clothed) on the north side. It's the best beach on the island presently, as it's on a cove protected by reefs. Back on the Dutch side, Casinos and Burger King restaurants are everywhere. I couldn't be bothered with those at all. Philipsburg was essentially ploughed down and replaced with duty free shops all owned by the cruise ships -- think Disney World for adult, duty-free shoppers. Don't bother with Philipsburg -- it does NOT resemble the real Sint Maarten at all! You need to struggle to find the REAL SINT MAARTEN any more. I was delighted to see that Layla's Beach Bar (Sandy Ground, French side) was still open and being run by the same entrepreneur as my prior visits from 1998-2003. Great food, personal service. The Mom & Pop business in Quartier D'Orléans (French side) called Chez Yvette -- it's plain and simple with fantastic food!! It's hard to find, but worth it.
