My friend and I were looking for a relaxing, upscale spot to stay on Isla Holbox, and Villas Flamingos definitely delivered! The rooms and facilities are really nice, but it's really the staff that makes Villas Flamingos so special. Nothing was too much to ask. The restaurant is also incredible; we figured we'd be going into town for most meals, but we ended up eating at least 2 (and sometimes) 3 meals a day at Mangle. The pools, sand, and beach chairs were well looked-after, too.

Beautiful and tranquil setting. The room was spacious and clean. The location was close to a lot of things without being in the middle of everything (which is what we usually look for). The front porch was an added bonus. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

This is a small beautiful island, the streets are made out of sand and there are mostly ATVs for transportation. We walked everywhere. It's a great place if you want to relax and get away from the City.

We travelled to Holbox island in mid-September, which meant that there would be a 20 minute thunderstorm most days, followed by hot sunshine and high humidity. The town is mostly little souvenir shops interspersed with restaurants and little stores. The roads flood with the big storms, but the souped up golf cart taxis were able to transport us around town and back to the hotel with ease. In dryer seasons I'm sure that the roads would be dry and sandy/clay for walking, bicycling, etc. We were able to stroll around town on the sidewalks. The beach road did not flood except for a few big puddles, so easy for walking. They offer several boat tours which I would recommend to see an assortment of birds (bring insect repellant as some of the smaller islands can get mosquitoes). It is a very relaxing island with friendly people. Bring pesos, not dollars! Our hotel, Villa Tiburon, was super fun, really clean, with amazing food and a delightful ambiance. The staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, and the chef used to work for Norwegian cruise line, and his food was absolutely delicious and very plentiful. The beach was super clean and very relaxing. Not a snorkeling beach unless you waded way out to deeper water. A very safe and friendly hotel and island. If you have orthopedic issues, be sure to ask for a ground floor room. They are also are a dog friendly hotel.

Enjoy The Staring of Such Views.. The Sun Was Perfect for Tanning and Warming the Water. The Water Was Calmed in the Mornings
That it Could be Used for Swimming,Paddle Boarding or Just Floating.. Around Midday The Beach Would Create a Long Sandbar That People Could Walk Long Distance to Mosquito Point.. It Sure Is Paradise!!!..It is Worth Going to Explore the Whole Island.. We Went to Eat at Mandarinas, Las Tortugas Hotel by the Beach.Food is Great. Service is Great As Well and they Also Make a Tradition to Prepare for Beautiful Sunsets..We Also Went to Eat at The Cerve by Downtown. Their Food is Also Great . I Highly Recommended The Yamikashi Special. It has an Explosion of Flavors.. You Can Walk ,Ride a Bicycle or Drive a Golf Cart Which All Three are Enjoyable to Get Around.. The Stay in Blue Holbox was Good.. The Bungalow was Big,Fresh,Clean.. The Bed Was Comfortable with Great Pillows and a Mosquito Net Covered the Bed..It Had A Nice Garden,Pool Area but the Best Was Upfront, The Beach..

I'd heard mixed reviews, including that it was very touristy and very expensive but that wasn't our experience. We practically had the beach to ourselves, we stayed in hostels and campsites with excellent kitchens and bought fish directly from a stall on the beach to cook. We ate out once and it was a little pricier than other places we went in Mexico but the food was excellent. We absolutely loved it.

The Island is absolutely beautiful.
The Island is absolutely beautiful. It is definitely somewhere you have to visit once. I did feel that everything was expensive there, but you are on a pretty remote island so that is to be expected. The food was absolutely amazing everywhere we went. Don't skip the street tacos!
Sunsets here are breathtaking. Definitely don't miss those either.
The mosquitoes there were TERRIBLE. It didn't matter what spray we used, they bit us so much. We tried everything.

Lovely island. Beautiful sunsets. Full of wild life.
Lovely island. Beautiful sunsets. Full of wild life. Very artistic with lots of murals throughout the island. Great tacos. Kind, chill people. Wish they would forbid the diesel fueled golf carts altogether. Would recommend to friends and family and even come back.
Hotel Mawimbi was absolutely stunning, it blew us away, the staff and owners really care and you can see and feel that in lots of details across the hotel. The beach setting is gorgeous, the most luxurious and spaced out of all the hotels we saw in Holbox. The food was also incredible, so easy and relaxing to spend your days at Mawimbi. Cannot wait to go back!
clean, spacious, nicely decorated room with a bath. with air conditioning, hot water and shared kitchen. we had a nice time here. I would recommend it to everyone. We look forward to seeing you back, as Holbox Island has won our hearts.
Absolutely beautiful hotel just a short walk from the beach. The breakfast was excellent and the access to the Mawimbi beach club was fantastic as it was the best beach I saw and the food and staff were incredible.
