What a charming place. We were warmly greeted as family and shown to a huge,  spotless and magnificent room. Our host’s son in law is the chef who prepared a flawless Char koey tiaw, the essential local dish of noodles fresh bean sprouts and prawns, for our dinner, along with a delicious Lai  chi kang, a fruity drink we’ve never sampled before, home made by our hostess.  Our hosts took us out to a local Chinese breakfast place to eat like a local and everyone could not have been more congenial!  There’s a lovely pool also. The place is a bit isolated outside of town, which makes it a quiet respite from the hubbub of Kota Baru. We had the best sleep of our trip here!

The Executive Premium King room was spacious, fully carpeted and had an excellent comfy bed. Housekeeping was prompt in delivering the deluxe duck feather pillow. The bathroom was well appointed with a separate shower stall and a bathtub. The hot water temperature was just right for me. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection of cuisines with local specialities (Laksam, Laksa Kelantan, Nasi lemak) and international delicacies.

    A lot for places to look for local food at a reasonable price. Friendly people and always free to help when you're in need. Tourist attraction is a place need to be upgrade more. Some area are left without proper upgrade.

    The weather was quite hot during the day.

    The weather was quite hot during the day. A bit of shower on evening. We rent a car during the trip which was the best decision made. Plenty of food selection. Local speak Kelantanese slang but its easy to understand. Most of shop has QR code as option for payment. You need to tell if you want less sweet drinks. We went to Pasar Siti Khadijah twice and please make sure to pay the parking fee. This will help Majlis Perbandaran Kota Bahru (MPKB) to improve their service. We eat at local shop i.e. Nasi Kukus xxx (near stadium), food was superb!

    Kota Bharu is a small layback town.

    Kota Bharu is a small layback town. If you enjoy a quite small historical town to explorer for food hunting and the history. The Khadijah market is an experience to visit the local produces. There have an international airport and as well beautiful islands to visit as well bordering with Terrengganu states. Here beaches are nice for photography but not suitable for bathing that you need check.

    Was a little dissapointed with most of the tourist spots as the places lacked maintenance and not that clean. The food especially those sold at the road side stalls are reasonably cheap and the stall holders are both helpful and friendly.

    People & food are excellent.

    People & food are excellent. Recently KB has faced increasing of vehicle on the road, so many trafict has been arise in such areas. Even you are finding e-hailing, it will take some time for them to arrive.

    Kota Bharu seems to be slowing down.

    Kota Bharu seems to be slowing down. There are a lot of closed shops and abandoned buildings in the KBCP area. Food is plentiful and pretty good. Grab cabs are a bit more expensive. Most streets have no sidewalks. Some streets are hard to cross because of traffic. The Tourism office is a great help in telling about the attractions or ever giving you a guided tour (costs), The attractions like the Buddhist temples are in disrepair. This applies to Islamic buildings as well. They build new stuff but don't want to maintain the existing stuff. There is a nice beach PCB, if you like walking by the water. It was too windy when we walked the length of the beach. We had no plans to swim, as this area is known for undertows. It rains a fair amount in small bursts. It pours and is done in 10-15 mins. Carry an umbrella. In monsoon season it can flood quickly in areas. Ask around.
