Hostel 45 is offering accommodations in Purmerend. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and a shared lounge, along with free WiFi throughout the property. I like the set up, the roof top gives amazing look. Hot shower and private bathroom are extra points for the hostel. Mr Martin is very helpfully, he is always available around the hostel. Bring your padlock for your locker however you can buy a padlock from the hostel. I will always come back to this hostel whenever i am around Amsterdam
LandLust Guest house **** features free WiFi and views of city in Purmerend. They are a wonderful family! Accomadating in every way, we were worried being out late in Amsterdam but the village is wonderful and so easy to get in and out of the city. We were a family with a 19 year old son.
Located in the Beemster region, a UNESCO World Heritage site, this bed and breakfast offers rooms in a renovated hay-shed. An apple and pear orchard is located behind In het Fruit. It was a cute small apartment for three in a quiet neighborhood with a blooming fruit tree orchard on the property. The simple breakfast was handy for us. We enjoyed the semi-rural location and used the park and ride about 15 minutes away to take the metro to the city. Nearby small towns on the water made for quiet dinners and sunset touring after a busy day in the city.
It is only 20 minutes from Amsterdam central. Bus transportation is frequent and easy. Purmerend is a small town with some great restaraunts,Italian, Greek, Dutch etc. It is nice to have a quiet town in the evening after sightseeing all day. It is closer to Edam, which is just a 20-30 minute bus trip and a beautiful quaint town. Also close to Schwans and Volendam. The B&B was wonderful, great breakfast. The room is small but most rooms in europe are small, there is a lovely balcony to sit and relax.
It is a town that is never mentioned but has a beautiful square in the centre surrounded by restaurants. Ideally situated for trips to many of the other local villages such as Maarkem,Volandam,Edam etc, plus it has a train and very good bus service into Amsterdam as well, beautiful area.
Quiet place with astonishing landscapes. There is nothing especial for tourists but to stay there for relaxing and touch the nature far from the crowded city of Amsterdam. And for seeing the Amsterdam, you can easily take a bus and go to the city.
We travelled from train station by taxi which took about 10 min and spent 2 days cycling out in the countryside which was so easy to get around. We had lunch on route while cycling and had breakfast and evening meal in hotel. Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Purmerend is a very nice and quiet place, far from the city noise. I recommend to visit it! I am very happy that we decided to stay here (not in Amsterdam), we had a great time bicycling around the villages, wonderful suburbs!
In half an hour you are in the city center and buses are going 3-4 times every hour. It is even better than to be in the center, the bus system is really good (you have to calculate to the hotel the bus fares also ). Very peaceful, very beautiful, I can recommend it.
The breakfast was great and the staff.
