Vangsgaarden Gjestgiveri is located in the oldest buildings in the village of Aurland. Located on the shores of Aurlandsfjord, it offers wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The view, the view and THE VIEW!!!! Great facilities with an amazing location and free parking
Located 1.9 mi from the UNESCO-listed Nærøy Fjord, this property is 12 minutes’ drive from the Flåm Railway. Free WiFi is available. We arrived and got an amazing welcome from the owner. He showed us the apartment very courteously. The rooms themselves were very clean and tidy including the provision of duvets and linen. The location is impeccable with a lot of stellar scenery. Overall we would like to recommend this property very highly to the family with kids and nature lovers.
Otnes Sør is located in Aurland and offers barbecue facilities and a terrace. The accommodations is 5 mi from Flåm, and guests benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. Very beautiful independent house furnished with style and equipped with everything you need. You really feel at home! The host was very kind and always helpful. Everything was just perfect and we loved stayed in this place (actually we wished to stay longer!). If we ever come back to Flåm we will stay here again for sure!

It's a small and quaint township. It's a good affordable stay if you are visiting the interesting places around Aurlandfjord. But the view from the town is but breathtaking. And they have supermarket if you are getting groceries.
Beautiful scenery some of the best in Norway. Nice little town Aulandsvegen with a good bakery for bread or a lunchtime snack. Possibly called Marianne bakery. There is only 1 so you won't miss it. It was pouring with rain so we did not get to do many activities. Sogndal looked like a nice town as we passed through from Skei. Longest tunnel in Norway 24km to get to Aulandsvegen. There is a road up to a viewpoint called Stegasteim for views over the fjord. We went to Flam but were underwhelmed. Too touristy because of the cruise ships, also went to village of Underal but nothing there really and cafe already closed for season in early September.
This is an amazing place. Aurlandsdalen has the most beautiful nature. We walked the Østerbø-Vassbygdi which is stunning but quite demanding. Local sites says it takes 6-7 h, but we used 11 hours with two kids, age 9 and 11. But it was worth it! Note that estimated time for walking tours is if you are Norwegian with a very fast tempo:-)
Aurland is a great place to stay and travel around the area. Very tinny and picturesque it is close to many natural places to visit (water falls, hiking routes or rivers) close to Flam too and local people very kind and willing to help tourists.
Scenery is beautiful. People are friendly. Marianne’s cafe is a wonderful place to visit for a bite to eat. Bus drivers not so friendly. Drove right passed us as we stood there with our suitcases. Not cool as we had a ferry to catch. Gentleman at the tourist info saved us by having ferry pick us up directly from Aurland instead of Flåm
Auraland is a very nice getaway not far from the tourist destination of Flam. It is a good spot to unwind and a good base if you have a car and wish to travel around the other sites. If travelling via public transport like we did, please preplan your bus journeys via public transport or by tour buses.
The view, the view and THE VIEW!!!! Great facilities with an amazing location and free parking
