In the hills above Sundvollen sits Kleivstua, a collection of traditional buildings carefully restored to offer modern accommodations overlooking Steinsfjord. The hotel is 40 minutes’ drive from Oslo.... It's a beautiful place and a good base to explore all the hiking trails around. It was not busy because they specialize in larger group events, which are often on weekends; so we enjoyed unique food and wine in peace in the evening. The breakfast included everything we could expect. The dining room has a spectacular view. We got a clean little log cabin to ourselves, with interesting antique books on the shelf, and a modern comfortable bathroom added on to one side. The manager is well-informed, attentive and fun to talk to.
Located in Vikersund, just 4.2 miles from Vikersund Ski Flying arena, Drolsum Gård has beachfront accommodations with a garden and free WiFi. There are alot to like in this lovely Apartment. The lovely lady Owner was very warm hearted and friendly person. She was very helpful. The place farm itself is located in a very peaceful quite place. A place to relax and enjoy the peace. The apartment, it was perfect. Very clean and comfortable.
I was staying with relatives and Ive been to Hønefoss lots of times. Theres some decent shopping there in Kuben as well as other parts of town. Plenty of nice coffee shops. Lots of beautiful scenery close by. The glassworks is also a great place to visit and isnt too far. Best places for a drink would be Kooperativen and Lloyds. The whole place is developing rapidly in a positive way. Its a quiet town with a big music scene too.
It was cozy in the center, close to the hotel. Got a tour of the former prison which is a museum and eatery. Was mostly in Jevnaker in connection with scars. And recommend Kistefoss.
a bit old town but full of history. some antique shop looks are great but we do not have enough time to look at.
An obvious place to stay on the journey north in Norway when coming from Zealand or western Sweden. Clear and cozy town for a short visit (single night).
Hønefoss is a pleasant town - and suitable for us who come from the country. Great place to eat with good food, Gledeshuset, down by the river on the east side of the bridge. Hønefossen was a mighty sight. The waterfall went too full because there were problems with the intake to the power plant. All water therefore flowed freely in the waterfall. See the picture. The city consists of a nice mix of new and older buildings. Good to see that the older buildings seem to be in good condition externally. The city has a beautiful, new church, which we got to see both outside and inside.
Quite a small town. Impressive view to the waterfall with large water flow. Otherwise, the city does not stand out so much compared to other small towns. There are both eateries and pubs as usual in cities of this size. Nice to walk around the city. I find nothing special to remark except about the waterfall which was truly an impressive sight.
The host/staff was very nice, helpful and friendly. Not your typical detached standard hotel service. The hotel and people make it feel homely. Will definitely be back!.
Hotel was good, but we asked for a room for 3, and our son ended up on a very uncomfortable folding bed. Disappointing
Area of hotel near to location of my relatives
Super breakfast that was very well organized, spec in hygiene and food waste. An example to follow and which can easily be continued after a pandemic. Very good dinner and very nice staff, parks, swimming pool and a lovely part great for weddings that we did not know about.
Super old historic building. High under the roof, it gives good air even when it is hot. Good breakfast, cheerful and helpful staff. Located in the middle of the smørøyet. Good value for money. Parking at the back. We enjoyed ourselves here. 😁
I really liked everything but most the staff. They were nice, friendly and helpful 😊
