Very convenient to visit Preikestolen, 20 mins away by car. It makes sense to leave before 8 a.m., so no tourist buses are there yet. It also makes sense to stay an extra day and enjoy the facilities and views after hiking. We felt at home – we have a similar design, good views from the windows. We got it here. Everything we needed is inside.

Everything! The view, the quiet & peacefulness, cleanliness, comfort…now that we are back home we keep talking about how our stay at the House by the Sea was the best part of our trip to Norway. We loved having our coffee on the deck in the mornings as we read our books and watched the boats go by or the antics of the nearby goats. The woods around the house had nice hiking trails and were so pretty to walk through. Like something out of a Lord of the Rings movie. We also walked some of the trails around the island and visited the historic church. We used the house as our base for exploring the surrounding area. The ferry to Stavanger was easy to catch, reasonably priced and the views were lovely as we relaxed on the boat. Our host was attentive to answering any questions we had and was an excellent source of information about Talgje, Stavanger and Lysefjord.
