This place was phenomenal! Definitely. a highlight of the trip to Norway. Home- Clean, bright, spacious and quiet apartment with full bathroom and kitchen. Well equipped and maintained. Stunning private deck with views of mountains and waterfalls. Location-Great location in Tyssedal- closer to hiking and trolltunga than Odda. Tyssedal is quiet and quite small but Odda doesn't have a lot of dining options either. Prepare to make your own meals or get take out from Odda. Price- great value Host- great communication, responsive. Thanks for a wonderful stay (jsut be aware there is no elevator)

We stayed in top floor (160 m2), therefore more than enough space for two persons. Fantastic view to lake, mountains and fjord! Personal was very kind and helpful! Very silent and peaceful place!

We went from Bergen to Odda on Saturday and spent one night...

We went from Bergen to Odda on Saturday and spent one night at the hostel. We went for the hiking on Sunday early morning and back to Bergen at the afternoon. The small town is really cosy and beautiful.

Tyssedal and Odda are both industrial towns.

Tyssedal and Odda are both industrial towns. There are mountains, the fjord and waterfalls, but there are also large heavy industry factories - one produces titanium oxide and one is a zinc smelter. They are there because they need power and there is a ready source of power from the hydro electric station located inside the mountain at Tyssedal. The location is great if you want easy access to Trolltunga and Bondhusvatnet, but it isn't very touristy - it is more of an industrial area. The Kraftmuseum is excellent. We ended up there because it was raining in the morning - however, it was really good - a film and then a guided tour of the old hydro electric station which has been restored. It also gives a lot of information about the area, how it changed from farming to industry and why it is so industrial. So to summarise - use Tyssedal/Odda as a base but don't expect unspoilt scenery.

A very pleasant region to visit.

A very pleasant region to visit. We had lunch in Odda where we had several types of restaurants and dinner was taken at the hotel with a limited but more than adequate selection.

Was offered a room upgrade, accepted, was disappointed.

Was offered a room upgrade, accepted, was disappointed. What would a couple use 5 made-up beds for? Would have been better with 2 good chairs to sit on. Very good breakfast. Poor signage from the main road to the hotel A little noise from the factory. Great fjord view

A small town with only one mini market, which closes at 5:00...

A small town with only one mini market, which closes at 5:00 PM on weekends, so if you're arriving by public transport, you'll need to plan accordingly. It's definitely better to stay in this small town if you have a car. It's well-connected by public transport, but there are only a few buses per day. There's only one restaurant, but it's quite expensive.

Amazing view! Staff were able to answer all my questions about Trolltunga. At the time of stay the sister hotel was offering free sauna and jacuzzi visit which was awesome

Staff is nice and genuinely upgrade us at both convenience. Lovely stay with awesome view and happened to have a surprise Aurora right at the hotel on the Geo burst day!
