Set in Anakiwa, Holiday home Queen Charlotte offers accommodation with a patio and free WiFi. With garden views, this accommodation provides a balcony. The house is beautiful, the sunset from the balcony was magical. The house has everything you need and the hosts are very helpful and welcoming. Unfortunately we had to check out to drive south but we wish we could have stayed longer than 2 nights.
Featuring a hot tub, a swimming pool and free Wi-Fi, Tirimoana House is set overlooking the Marlborough Sounds. I can’t rate this property highly enough. Dell and Keith are the most welcoming hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. The house and all the rooms have spectacular views. It is spotlessly clean. There is access to a pool spa and kayaks. I would definitely stay here again.
Situated in the seaside town of Anakiwa, The Red Shed features barbecue facilities and garden. All rooms feature a kitchenette and a private bathroom. A little bit tricky to contact the host as email address and or website wasn't available but contact was made via cell phone. Now understand why internet contact was tricky due to remoteness. Our host was able to welcome us personally even though we arrived after midnight. We used the place as a stop over on the way South but were delighted by the beautiful scenery we woke to. Host was helpful with directions for our onward journey. The kids were lucky enough to be welcomed into the main house to play with a visiting granddaughter while we got packed up.
Anakiwa is a bit of a surprise, in that there were lovely lodges and the Wueen Charlotte Sound Track then you arrive st the end of the walk in Anakiwa and it is an extremely modest settlement with no food outlet and no shops. The Lodge itself is okay.
Anikawa is in a beautiful position in the Marlborough Sounds at one end of the Queen Charlotte tramping track. There are great opportunities nearby for walking, swimming and boating. Don't expect restaurants nearby though you don't need them if you eat at Tirimoana House. There's plenty available a short drive away though in Picton or Havelock. In my own view it is one of the most beautiful areas in New Zealand and well worth spending time there.
Privacy was great. the lodge had a TV room with a large eclectic range of books and games as well. they also had a huge range of DVD's. The kitchen and dining area was spotless and the hot tub was an added bonus. The staff are also very obliging.
Such a stunning location with endless amount of beauty, whether you are staying in Anakiwa itself or walking in part of the Queen Charlotte track looking out to the views from Anakiwa. It may be rather remote for some, but when you have the amazing facilities that there are there, the amazing people, stunning views and endless things to keep you busy; you easily forget about that and wish that you would never have to leave!!!!
Anikiwa is a beautiful spot in the sounds between Havelock and Picton which are both good to visit if you feel like a craft beer or coffee etc. The Queen Charlotte track is on your doorstep and if like us you are not keen on the full hike you can walk in from Anikiwa into Davies Bay or further to a look out which takes about 3 hours round trip. If I went again I would do one of the Walk and Cruise options available from Picton nearer to the start of the walk.
Great location for the trips we made to Blenheim vineyards and for the wine festival. Close to picton town centre where there are many places to eat and for the ferry to the North Island. Cafe Cortado is an amazing place to eat, however you would need a car to travel around.

This property is brilliant! You could not fault any aspect of this B&B. The rooms are generous, and well appointed, the hosts are wonderful, the breakfasts and the dinner we had were extremely generous and delicious. The beds were more comfortable than any other hotel/motel/B&B we have stayed in over the last month. This was our best B&B experience ever! Thank you Linda and Steve.

Relaxing, well set up with different areas, free kayaks, free bike use and excellent location. We used the kayaks to paddle to the next bay. The next day we went back and got some mussels. Jumping off the jetty was an activity we did everyday. Lots of families went to the jetty each day. It was a fun filled holiday.

This is THE place to be in Anakiwa. Beside the amazing views over the Sounds, the hosts went the extra mile to make our stay as pleasant as possible. I would totally recommend to join the dinners: the cooking is superb and the atmosphere very friendly.
