A very comfortable, ultra-clean and well maintained small hotel above a restaurant / bar. Small hotels are hard to find outside of larger towns and cities in NZ, and this one met all my needs. Recommended for bicycle touring! Super helpful staff.

Cannot beat the location. In a cosy warm room on the mountain. Appreciated the electric blankets, the large bathroom, and having a fridge. Amazing access to forest tracks and saw it snowing in the evening and the morning! Dinner and breakfast were both delicious! Very romantic!

Royal Accommodation is housed inside a heritage building that has been beautifully restored. The rooms are lavishly furnished and the facilities are clean and spacious. The hostess, Terna, is very friendly and personable. She takes a strong interest in collecting lovely antiques and paintings which collectively make this a very royal place to stay indeed. A true gem in rural Taranaki centrally located within the township with great vews of the mountain.

Quiet, clean, on the direct route we were taking. Fantastic managers. They let us use their laundry machine. Very comfortable beds. Eat at the Rough House and stop by Anderson Pies for fresh ones. They deserve a 10.0.
