United KingdomWe loved our stay at Dafne and Ronaldo’s place! We planned to come to Yanque for a few nights but immediately decided to extend our stay to spend longer at the lodge and in the town.
The room was lovely and cosy with nice big blankets. Breakfast was delicious and Dafne thoughtfully added a special drink when we mentioned we were feeling a bit sick.
We loved hanging out with Dafne and Ronaldo in the evening and also their beautiful cats (particularly when Ash came for a stay in our room). They gave us loads of great recommendations and information about the area and also very kindly took us to Chivay to get our bus on our last day.

We really enjoyed our couple of days in Yanque.
We really enjoyed our couple of days in Yanque. It was a lovely place to slow down and spend some time in the Colca Valley, and the kindness of the people we met made the experience especially memorable. We left happy we’d made it part of our trip.

Yanque is a quaint hamlet nestled in the spectacular, and I do mean spectacular, Colca Valley. There's several hikes you can do from the hamlet to other villages, to the archaelogical site of Uyo-Uyo and Chimpa Fortress, and there's hot springs as well. It's much smaller than Chivay, and it's also closer, I believe, to more hikes than Chivay. We ate a delicious lunch at the Colca Cafe. We hiked up to Chimpa Fortress and then walked three miles from the trailhead to Madrigal (via the country road).

Colca Lodge sits opposite Pulqiq and Las Casitas along the Colca river as "the three luxury resorts of the Colca Valley" near the small town of Yanque. Personally as for authenticity (the Peruvian cuisine restauran) and facilities (hot springs bath directly on the property plus the hotel's own alpaca ranch and museum) and even more so price (far more affordable than the other two), the Colca Lodge is my hands-on favorite choice in the Colca Valley.

The rooms are quite new, the staff is very friendly and give a lot of information, if you have some questions (in spanish). You can walk to the Main square in 3 minutes and find some restaurant there (do not expect too much from Yanque, is a small village). The view on the mountains from the room is just magic. Hot water all day long, breakfast is standard as in every place in this area. We highly recommend this place!

The staff were really excellent, especially Dennis and Andrea, but the others as well! I really appreciated them starting and maintaining the hanging fireplaces in the main communal area, the room service, answering all of my questions, helping me arrange a tour, etc. The hotel’s views are delightful; I really enjoyed the gas fireplaces, which really did warm up the room, and the jacuzzi.

Pleasant mini hotel with a very friendly attitude, private parking, tasty breakfast, comfy beds. There is a restaurant with a dinner for the latest hours. Ghe heater is available as well.
Absolutely satisfied from the apartment and provided service. Close to the centre, grocery stores, restaurants. Best location for visiting Colca Canyon, Geiser of Pinchollo, etc.. 10/10
