This locally owned resort is infused with the vibrant personality of its owner, who genuinely cares for her guests. Surrounded by lush gardens, the resort offers a culinary experience ranging from satisfying to exceptional. Booking a two-week stay earned me an upgrade to a spacious oceanfront room where I could drift off to sleep to the soothing sound of waves. My primary motivation for choosing Bohol-Lohoy was diving, and it did not disappoint. Guided by Ornel, whose eagle-like vision underwater led to breathtaking photo opportunities. The boat crew, with their lively demeanor, added to the enjoyment of the experience. Without a doubt, I’ll be returning.”

Location is peaceful and the room itself was comfortable and met all expectations. Staff were welcoming and always helpful. Free breakfast was also convenient since restaurants are a little further away if you don't have transportation. Family of cats were also super cute!

Excellent design with a very tropical, lush grounds. The staff were all very friendly and we were treated very well. The food is very good. Beds are comfortable. I couldn’t have been more happy with the rooms. Lots of space and very comfortable. Very nice pool.

Our recent stay at Cabagnow Homestay far exceeded our expectations. Staff members were very welcoming and attentive from the time we arrived, making us feel perfectly at home. Their hospitality was exceptional, always ready to assist with a smile. The accommodations were immaculate and wonderfully designed, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. Well, I’m not a fan of writing reviews. In my opinion, they should either be paid, not written at all… or written from the heart. Luckily for both of us, this one comes straight from the heart. First, let’s talk perks—for all the detail lovers out there. - This is a hometel, not a hotel, and it comes with: - Wi-Fi (because yes, Instagram won’t scroll itself) - A comfy bed (you’ll sleep like a particularly pampered koala) - Air conditioning (praise be!) - Hot water (simple joys!) - Fridge, TV, swimming pool (luxuries, not just checkboxes) - Everything is squeaky clean - Beach is a 7-minute walk - The center is just 10 minutes away by motorbike (wind in hair optional but encouraged) Now, for those who read beyond the bullet points — the soul of the place. If you're the curious, open-hearted type, you’re in for something rare and special: genuine conversations with locals, the warm-hearted host, her family, and friends. You see, the Philippines isn’t just about beaches. It’s about connection — both ways. They with you. You with them. And the best part? Everyone walks away happier for it. At Viva la Rosa, you won’t feel like just a guest. Actually, scratch that. You’ll feel exactly how you want to feel. No forced conversations, no ridiculous house rules. This is your gentle portal into a truly authentic local world — the kind you won’t find in a travel brochure or on a hashtag. The Dive Resort described in the advertisement did not exist...

The Dive Resort described in the advertisement did not exist. There were no diving equipment nor could you rent at any location nearby. We were lied to and took daily trips to town. The SCUBA equipment never arrived. The barameter was steady the entire time we stayed. We finally cut our strangle hold the motel had on us as we spent almost $10,000.00 coming from Florida USA. I didn’t know it takes a day and a half to get to the closest sea port to spend 5 more hours plus taxi time to get to the Lahoy. I will visit the beautiful island but not with the same operator of a crappy motel on potentially beautiful ocean view. That amenity came from up above and was the only perk. Just beware of scammers with old pictures of their run down facility. Do your research on your own and demand new pictures. Look at the meta data on the photo. It cannot be edited. Sorry. I’m still annoyed we got financially abused and wasted a week. Sad part is we left early because all I have reviewed is true. The owner is not all there and can be read in her replies to what I wrote. I wish the place was like the old photos she provided. They were from her tenant whom leased the place. She thought she could end their lease reaping the benefits of what the tenant built. Just a scam based on the property of what it was and what it is not today. Cheers and be careful.
