The house is as beautiful, if not more than the pictures. Everything is immaculate, there is not a spot of dust anywhere. The hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful. We booked a couple of trips while we were ther and the host made sure we had a good price and were not charged for pick up. The breakfast was extremely generous. Items were left in the fridge for us to use at our leisure and the bread was delivered fresh and left on the gate by the baker, also generous and we couldn't get through it. They even topped up a few breakfast items midweek and it was again very, very generous. The rooms are beautiful but perhaps the beds are not large enough for a couple. The sheets and towels are crisp and clean and could be changed mid-week. The kitchen has great facilities and the BBQ came with coal and lighters and equipment so it was very easy to get started and we enjoyed the beautiful outdoor cooking area and BBQ with view on the fantastic garden very much. The garden is wonderful, we did not use the volleball net as it was a little hot for us but it was a nice idea. Overall the house and garden are beautiful and very pleasant to stay in.

We had the most wonderful suite for our 3 night stay - spacious and beautifully furnished with lots of little extras. And a magnificent view of the Douro River from our room and private, tree shaded patio with a little pool to cool off in. We had picnic baskets delivered to our room for dinner and were happy to spend time in the beautiful space.

The property was immaculately presented and maintained. On a working orchard where fruit was readily available to pick and consume also sit and relax amongst, the entire stay is rated one of the very best we have ever experienced. The original Portuguese village made it feel like we were transported back in time, beautifully renovated with luxury products, finishes and furniture left us not wanting for anything more. The hotel was full however never once felt crowded - amazing selection at breakfast with a wonderful view over the property and valley below. Our family of four adults were very comfortable spending time together, with plenty of individual activities and areas to explore roaming always in awe of the natural beauty of the village and grounds. There wasn’t anything the staff wouldn’t do to assist in maximising our experience. Cooking facilities in the villas along with community kitchen and cooking for outdoor alfresco options were immaculately keeled and readily available for use. The pool zone was tranquil with flowing mountain spring water keeping it cool for the summer days. (High temperatures in the region of 39-40 degree heat plenty of shade to protect from the sun) Conveniently location near the Douro River and vineyards. The kind gift of arrival of in-house Blueberry Jam and teas was amazing also the signature bottle of white wine was a lovely and welcomed treat which was chilled and enjoyed after a long day of exploring the region on the warm summer night in our private courtyard. We could not fault our four night stay and can not wait to return on our next trip to visit family in the region.
