Sebes is a pleasing blend of old and new.
Sebes is a pleasing blend of old and new. The wood industry is the main employer and it is not without controversyy. There is a busy Green Party office in the centre. On the positive side there is full employment which accentuates the underlying friendliness of a place I had visited before when times were not so easy. On my first day I accidentally dropped a small piece of paper from my pocket while walking along the main street. This was spotted by a driver in slow-moving traffic who called out: 'sir you dropped something!' The centre has some nice public buldings and churches and there is a very good restaurant called 'Crema Turm' where I ate twice and which is easy to spot.Guest review byThomasUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Nice town..lots of interesting things everywhere but you...
Nice town..lots of interesting things everywhere but you need to spend time looking. Check out Mr Binders House and the birthplace of a guy named Carl Filtsch..he was a child prodigy of Chopin but died when he was only 14. Around the corner is a list of local citizens sent off to the Romanian and Russian gulags..never to return.
