With the recent development of modern apartment houses I find it has some of the best choice of accommodation and services (shops, restaurants) in the High Tatry areas. I stayed through New years eve and it had a nice lively but not too loud ambience with entertainment options available but not too noisy. The location makes it also easy to get around either to Tatranska Lomnica on one side or Strbske pleso on the other. What I miss is an option for an easy walk (not hiking) which the other mentioned do have (park or lake side).

Stary Smokovec is a nice cozy place at the bottom of the mountains with plenty of cafes, and restaurants. A funicular can drive you 5 minutes up the hill where many hiking tracks can be started, from the easiest, with children to some difficult ones.

Patrik and Lenka and ...We just want to say thank you..for your generosity and offer to stay at your place, it was stunning, we feel like at home, relaxed, mind open with a view on part of mountains, also, we would like to recommend this to others who really liked to feel like at the place where you will willing to come back every time if your go-to visit high Tatras, we been in couple places such as 4star hotel at this area but this apartment was perfect and way much better than other places,.higly recommended, really,..you got also everything on your and if you will need, and many types of equipment at the place so what you will need if you would like to stay in heart of this mountain area? go to visit this place and you will not regret this.. thanks a lot were sure we will come back and thank you for a morning coffee:-) take care guys...
