I have been on a few islands near(ish) to Bangkok and really don’t recommend Koh Si Chang to international travellers. Majority of the places do not have an English menu and majority barely speak any English. It’s a very ‘real’ town and very near the port, so the beach isn’t great. There are rubbish everywhere as it is a very ‘real’ town and not for tourist. For example you won’t be able to buy anything remotely touristy (like a fridge magnet haha) on the island. In terms of the size, you can tour the whole island in a few hours. We stayed at De’ Anchor, an amazing resort and honestly is the best place and best thing about this island, and also why we came, because we wanted a relaxing holiday.
Koh Sichang is a lovely experience, getting to see authentic Thai life. As a break away from Bangkok, it’s exactly what you’d want; a calmer, quieter pace of life, really friendly welcoming locals who would wave and smile. Hire a motorbike/scooter (300b 24hrs, available from the pier) for some exploring on (mostly) decent roads with literally no cars. Some great viewpoints Somewhere Koh Sichang was a fantastic place to stay, nicely nestled off the main road with nice views, great rooms and restaurant and a pool! Veranda restaurant was ace, but huge shout out to Pan & David’s, ate their back-to-back! Cracking menu, well-priced and lovely service
Ideal for those who want to spend a quiet time on a small island, because there are fewer foreigners and quieter than Pattaya and Phuket. I think there are some people who are not satisfied with the activities. The beach is clean, high visibility under water and comfortable with few people.
The island is quite dirty, even by Thai standards there is rubbish everywhere including the beach, the views are hampered by big industrial ships and oil tankers. The island is nice and quiet though without huge amounts of tourists and has a bit of charm to it. Motorbike is the best way to get around and you can really go down every alley and street in one day. The food options are not too bad and decent value for money. We searched for a seafood restaurant but found nothing of the sort. I would recommend Samed as better value, cleaner and more options.
Small varied island with slow pace of life - very different to hustle and quick sell on Koh Larn near Pattaya. Locals friendly and small 3 restaurant beach was lovely after our tuk-tuk tour (300 baht for the day).
Fantastic island, with some great cliffs and beaches, some hills and interesting animals walking around (boars, huge lizards). The sea between the mainland and the island is not so scenic because it is full with huge tankers and fishing boats. The view from the other side of the island is much better, only container ships passing by in the distance. however there is trash everywhere on the islands, thrown down at cliffs in the sea (which means a lot of trash hanging on unreachable places until it ends up in the sea), on beaches, near the roads, between houses of locals (some houses are surrounded by trash on all sides), and you can find several garbage dump areas when you go a bit out of the town. (for some reason not a single one where it is concentrated, but several). And of course in the sea. Locals throw beer bottles down the cliffs among other trash. If you go explore on the rocks, you will find several places where people had a good time, but of course left their pile of beer bottles. On the ground, in openings in the rocks, everywhere. Don't support this trash culture, avoid this island!

Charlie’s Bungalows is little cluster of clean, visually pleasing, comfortable, modern units, around a courtyard garden. This staff are friendly and helpful, and the location was ideal, situated near the main centre of the village, and within walking distance of several excellent restaurants (our favourite was Pan and David, as well as the seafood place next to it), a coffee shop, stores, and Sichang Healing House massages. You could rent a scooter from Charlie’s Bungalows, for a reasonable price, and it worked well.

The biggest bonus are the owners. They are very pleasant and will pick you up at the pier. Annd once on property, literally everything is taken care of. The rooms are large, ac, fan, coffee, super clean, smell great, nice towels, water, OJ, shampoo, free bikes, it's just done, you don't have to think. Also, the property has SO MANY birds its an amazing sound to wake up to. After this first stay it's my go to place. Also, best mattress I've found in Koh Sichang. Thanks!

Charming little hotel, excellent staff and beautiful rooms. The restaurant offers a great range of food and is open daily. We had a wonderful stay and we warmly recommend this place. We appreciated all the small attentions from the staff, our son cried when we left because he didn't want to go away! We hope to be back!
