I recently spent one night at the TRYP by Wyndham for a business conference. The Location: This is the most important factor to consider. The hotel is located in the Basın Ekspres neighborhood, which is a significant distance from the main tourist hubs like Sultanahmet, Taksim, or Karaköy. The major pro is that it's directly connected to the Basın Ekspres/İstanbul Hal Metro Station via a skybridge. This metro line provides a direct (though 40-50 minute) ride to the city center. If your goal is to explore the historic old city, be prepared for a long daily commute. However, if you have business at the nearby World Trade Center or airport, the location is very practical. There are a few shopping malls and restaurants within walking distance, but don't expect charming local streets. The Room: My room was exactly as pictured online: modern, clean, and functional. The décor is standard contemporary business hotel—neutral colors, a comfortable Wyndham bed, and a sleek bathroom with a good shower. Everything was spotless upon arrival. The soundproofing was decent; I heard some hallway noise but it wasn't disruptive. The free Wi-Fi was reliable and fast enough for work emails and video calls. The Amenities: The hotel has a small but adequate fitness center and a surprisingly nice outdoor pool. The breakfast buffet was extensive with a good mix of Turkish and international options (eggs, pastries, cheeses, olives, etc.). It's a great way to start the day before heading out. The on-site restaurant and lobby bar are convenient but priced as you'd expect for a hotel with few alternatives nearby. The Staff: The staff were professional and efficient. Check-in and check-out were swift. They answered my questions clearly, though the interaction felt more transactional than warmly hospitable. The Verdict: TRYP by Wyndham Istanbul Basın Ekspres is a perfectly adequate, modern, and clean hotel. It does what it says on the tin.

    The hotel away for everything and no one on guard room or reception speak any language but Turkish and the phone number not respond, to get a key need to open roaming your international number which I don’t have it There is no blanket and linen small to queen bed Ac broken and no hangers in dressing closet the shelves in tiny bathroom was broken( I have pictures for all this problem which was in room 56 block a in 7 floor

    It is a newly built neighbourhood.

    It is a newly built neighbourhood. I prefer not to stay in the city centre as a neighbourhood slightly far from the centre gives me better access to all sides and parts of the city. Of course, you need to have a car. There is a lively high street where you can find all you need. As it is a newly built neighbourhood, expect to see construction work both on the roads and on new buildings.

    Quiet hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Especially when I arrived post midnight and hungry! I didn't get much chance to get round the neighbourhood but seemed well connected by car to the places I was going to.
