Everything! Can't wait to come back here- we have travelled for 10 weeks and this was definitely one of the favourites. Highly recommend taking a few days here to relax. It's quiet and out the way from all the busy parts of the island which we loved. We felt no need to leave except to do a snorkelling and beach fresh seafood BBQ day which was amazing. However they do tours if you want to visit other parts. Our room had amazing ocean views and we loved jumping straight into the ocean in high tide or walking along the sandbar in low tide. The food was amazing- we loved every meal and even did a cooking class with the chef on our request. Can't recommend a massage enough. The best part however was definitely the staff- they were some of the nicest I have ever come across and made us feel like family.

The location and views are amazing, it's not a luxurious stay and nor did I expect this. The cliff side views and chilled atmosphere was great as a get away and right next to CR Hope foundation which is why we stayed here.

Just got back from an absolute ripper of a stay at Aya Beach Resort, and I couldn't wait to share the good vibes. This place is a real beaut, mate!
From the moment we rocked up, the staff were top-notch—super friendly and always up for a chat. The rooms were ace, spotless, and as comfy as a roo in a paddock. We stayed in one of their beachfront villas, and let me tell ya, waking up to that view every morning was pure bliss.
And the food? Crikey, it was delicious! The resort's restaurant dishes up some seriously tasty grub. Fresh seafood, exotic fruits, and cocktails that hit the spot every time. We even tried some local delicacies—bloody fantastic!
One arvo, we joined a dolphin excursion organized by the resort, and it was a hoot. Seeing those dolphins up close was unreal. We also did a blue safari—totally worth it!
Aya Beach Resort, you've won our hearts. If you're looking for a top-notch getaway with all the bells and whistles, this is your spot. We'll definitely be back for more!

Outstanding hosts at Mandarin, feels just like home! We had a pleasant 2-nights stay and it was total relaxation for us. The ambience was great, very clean, all the staff were great, Chef Amir made the best of dishes (breakfast was also top notch) and extra stars for the GM Mr. Hany! There are different activities at Mandarin but unfortunately, we were only there to basically eat, sleep and enjoy the beach though I am sure they would be just as great. If you are looking for a great affordable place in Zanzibar then Mandarin Resort it is!

This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute.
Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again!
PS. A big thanks to Cliffton for recommending us Malaika, We enjoyed it to the fullest ;-)

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways.
There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching.
There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price.
Hardly any touting which is nice;
3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Place was very clean, food was nice and staff were very friendly, always available to assist
They also organized transport for us to travel around
Pete(Rasta man) was very friendly and he gave me some plants to bring to South Africa, I have them in my garden now
Morning shower was terrible, water was always cold and it seemed like their geyser or boiler was faulty
Remote, quiet place with super friendly staff, good food and enough relax space, sunbeds and hamocks to enjoy this little piece of paradise.
By the way: I read in some comment that supposedly water bottles would cost 10$. We paid 2$ for a large bottle, which I think is fair given transportation etc.. I recommend asking the hotel for the pick-up from the airport, as it is not easy to find for anybody not familiar with the last kilometer. All in all we had a wonderful stay and are very grateful to the marvellous team at Kusini!
The bungalows were amazing experience and the reception staff were the best 👌, the cleanliness of the rooms was another level ,specially Faudhia the person who cleans the room ,the level of integrity and cleanliness was impressive . Friendly staff and management at the reception that made us cancel all other arrangements and extend our stay in the hotel from 4 days to 7 days . Special thanks to Ahmed for his hospitality. Also the Spa was a great experience.
Best hotel in all my stay in Zanzibar. Great service, Beautiful sunsets by the beach😍, clean spacious rooms with a sea view by the balcony, the staff are very friendly , exceptional breakfast🤩 i will surely be back here!!!
