It is really a small paradise. A lot of green, cosy bungalows and a fantastic view over the sea from all of the lovingly arranged seating places. Breakfast and dinner always were very tasty and served on a terrace that also offers a great view over the sea, including fantastic sunsets in the evenings. And additionally Ben, Frieda and all there emplyoees are super sweet, welcoming and thoughtful. Big recommendation!

Aya Beach Resort, hotel in Kizimkazi

Set in Kizimkazi, a few steps from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Aya Beach Resort offers accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

Howzit! The views were spectacular, overlooking crystal-clear waters and sandy shores that just scream relaxation. The rooms were top-notch, blending comfort with a touch of local flair. We loved chilling out on the patio, soaking in the island vibes and enjoying a lekker braai under the stars. The food was a highlight! Fresh seafood straight from the ocean, and the curries were next-level spicy goodness. The bar served up ice-cold beers and cocktails that kept us cool in the Zanzibar heat. The vibe at Aya Beach Resort is laid-back and vibey, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The staff made us feel like family, always ready with a smile and a "how's it, mate?" Overall, Aya Beach Resort gave us an unforgettable taste of island life. We'll be back for sure!

Mandarin Resort Zanzibar, hotel in Kizimkazi

Located in Kizimkazi, 50 metres from Kizimkazi Mkunguni Beach, Mandarin Resort Zanzibar provides accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge.

Outstanding hosts at Mandarin, feels just like home! We had a pleasant 2-nights stay and it was total relaxation for us. The ambience was great, very clean, all the staff were great, Chef Amir made the best of dishes (breakfast was also top notch) and extra stars for the GM Mr. Hany! There are different activities at Mandarin but unfortunately, we were only there to basically eat, sleep and enjoy the beach though I am sure they would be just as great. If you are looking for a great affordable place in Zanzibar then Mandarin Resort it is!

This place has an amazing ambient and a beautiful soul! It was like a hub for the coolest people from every country, looking for a peaceful, extremely relaxed vacation in a bit of wilderness, heartfelt conversations with alcohol next to the fire… it’s all in the package, and as a bonus you get one of the best teams - owners and staff members that are right there for you literally every minute. Thank you all guys- Benjamin, Annick, Cliffton, Melania, Elisabeth and others whose names we did not get to know;) You were all so amazing that even after two weeks it was a pity to leave. We look forward to meeting you all again! PS. A big thanks to Cliffton for recommending us Malaika, We enjoyed it to the fullest ;-)

It’s a very quiet and enjoyable place and you can book lots of activities from there but overall there is not much going outside the hotels. The public beach doesn’t have any good restaurants or shops so you’re pretty much tied to your resort.

The staff and the hotell facilties are the absulute best. The location is more quiet then other places, they do not have a beach like Kendwa but it you are just looking to relax a couple of days this does not matter. It is like on a little cliff, sooo nice!

Kizimkazi is a village, although in fact there are 2 distinct and separate areas, with 2 beaches. The rest of the area is comprised of large, private self-contained resorts with their own private stairways. There is not much to explore, but boat owners offer big-game fishing and dolphin-watching. There are only 2 restaurants, although some of the private resorts offer their restaurants to the public; but at a price. Hardly any touting which is nice; 3 or 4 days is probably sufficient to see all there is to see.

Remote, quiet place with super friendly staff, good food and enough relax space, sunbeds and hamocks to enjoy this little piece of paradise. By the way: I read in some comment that supposedly water bottles would cost 10$. We paid 2$ for a large bottle, which I think is fair given transportation etc.. I recommend asking the hotel for the pick-up from the airport, as it is not easy to find for anybody not familiar with the last kilometer. All in all we had a wonderful stay and are very grateful to the marvellous team at Kusini!
