Home to the world’s busiest airport and a vibrant arts scene, Atlanta has an important role in US history. The gateway to the American South, it's home to barbecue and hundreds of peach trees that make it a surprisingly green city.
Hartsfield-Jackson Airport is the main arrival point, and Booking.com has an excellent range of Atlanta hotels near the airport. However, the main sights are clustered around Downtown. Near the gold-domed Georgia State Capitol is Underground Atlanta, a shopping center at the former downtown street level.
Just north are a few hotels near Georgia Dome, a huge sports venue, and to its northeast is Centennial Olympic Park, commemorating the 1996 Olympic Games. On one edge of this park are the CNN headquarters with behind-the-scenes tours. Across the street is the New World of Coca-Cola where you can sample all their worldwide products. Next door is the massive Georgia Aquarium, the world’s largest indoor aquarium.
In the Auburn district is Martin Luther King, Jr.’s former home and church, and a museum dedicated to him and the Civil Rights movement. A few blocks south in Grant Park is the city zoo, and the Atlanta Cyclorama and museum, detailing the city’s Civil War battles.
More national history is in the Carter Center, and the former home of Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone with the Wind.

Atlanta offers a little something for everyone, making it the perfect destination for all ages. Additionally, the southern hospitality is top-tier, and the food is incomparable. I could definitely see myself moving there and enjoying life to the fullest. If you love grits and shrimp, please check out "Poach Social," a brunch restaurant. This place has the best grits I have ever tasted!

I was blessed to fine this hotel. I originally had a reservation at Holiday Inn Express and my reservation was canceled which left my daughter and and myself with a hotel. I looked and found Sonesta and booked the hotel. I was placed in a beautiful double bed room and this was after midnight. My daughter and I flew in for her powerlifting competition. The next morning I was happy to meet the Mangement who assured me my daughter and myself was welcome in his hotel and would properly be taking care of. It was close to the mall, the airport, and downtown Atlanta. Buckhead was about 9 minutes. Inside, the room was as clean as possible, and everything needed was inside. The lady at the front desk was professional, and checking was smooth with no hassle. Once inside and I came out, I went around to check the location, and it was peaceful, a place where you would want to stay longer.

It’s far enough from downtown Atlanta that it’s quiet and relaxing, but close enough that you can go just about anywhere. There are tons of strip malls close by and even one large mall. We couldn’t be more pleased.
