Bend seems to be lively and open for business with some restrictions. Most restaurants had outdoor seating open and everyplace seemed busy. Traffic was horrendous. You cannot do better than Bend for outdoor activities!
Bend is a great place to visit. Exceptional food and service. Many outdoor activities, skiing and snow shoeing in the winter, paddle boarding and kayaking on the river, and bike paths and parks galore.
Bend is a magical spot in Oregon! It usually has sunshine when other parts of Oregon are either cloudy or rainy. There are an abundance of parks both for pedestrians & kids to enjoy, most of them along the beautiful Deschutes river. It is a dog friendly & bike friendly city. My very favorite thing to do in Bend is visit McKay Park which is the whitewater park in Bend (off Colorado Ave) & watch the kayakers & tube floaters tackle the rapids. If you are craving a great (& huge) sandwich visit "Plankers" on Wall St. in downtown Bend. My favorite is the Chicken Salad Sandwich with apples & walnuts. Yummy! It's pretty big so you might want to share. And right across the street is the Bend Store, with t-shirts, art & other fun items to remind you of your visit to Bend. I can't wait to visit Bend again!!
Bend Oregon is great for so many reasons. It has a something for everyone. It has lakes, trails, mountains and rivers galore for those that love the great outdoors. And it offers lots of options for shopping, a wide variety of restaurants and bars. A lot to do in the area. The City is clean and has a lot of character and a beautiful park downtown to enjoy. Most all of the outdoor activities are relatively very close by, so easy to enjoy and access. Great for families too. I wish I could go here more often!
Bend is a great town, lots of little squares to walk around and eat and shop, sit and sip a latte. The people are extremely nice and helpful. Tumalo Falls isn’t far from town. You can view the fall from several lookouts above, or there’s even a trail down to the fall. If you’re up for an amazing hike through forests with pristine creeks and waterfalls And foot bridges and fallen trees to cross the water, there’s that option as well. Whatever you choose you won’t be disappointed.
There is so much to do in and around Bend, especially outdoors, which makes it a perfect place to explore during Covid-19. Paulina Peak and the Lodge in La Pine, Tumalo Falls, and Crater Lake are fantastic locations to visit.
The location, the staff, and the room were great! Audrey at the front desk was super helpful in pointing us to great adventures, places to eat, and was overall just awesome! Given the COVID environment the breakfast offerings were good. The patio overlooking the river provided for great morning and evenings for lounging and yoga. Even with a little smoke from nearby forest fires the setting was perfect!
