Brownwood as a town is fine, I guess.
Brownwood as a town is fine, I guess. If traveling, needing a Good nights sleep, not so good. Not enough Inns to choose from, or rooms available. Rates a bit pricey for what is offered. I worked many years in Hotel business for a Large well known company, and our Inns were very well kept, servicers friendly and helpful, maintenance on duty 24 hours a day, free coffee, extra linens available, Kids free, food establishment brochures in rooms, and we had a restaurant. Found folks liked that we offered other places to eat and mostly ate with us. The inn where we stayed was not good. No coffee, one tiny bar of soap, 2 towels for 4 people, hair dryer did not work, nor did one lamp that was needed. only 2 plug ins in room, free WIFI was advertised, but did not work. I needed it for my work, even tho on a visit. Myself and a grand daughter were bitten by 'Something"! several times. Beds were not good. Room smelled of Cig. Smoke, tho we asked for and were told it was non smoking room. I am very sensitive to smoke. Floors were dirty, I mopped with paper towels we brought. Tissue empty. Not a good stay! We had a hard time finding a place to eat in town. Sorry, bad visit. I did not take photos, couldn't wait to leave.
