Enough to see and do that you’ll want to return. If it’s not enough having the Baseball Hall of Fame, the town also has an art museum and the Farmers Museum. There are nice shops, not just baseball related. Good cafes, diners, and restaurants. Good range of lodging from mom and pop motels to fancy bed and breakfasts to an elegant resort hotel.
The Town was beautiful. The restaurants were great The Hotel that we stayed was the WORST. We wanted to stay 3 days but couldn't stay more than a day in Cooperstown due to accommodations. They should be checked out yearly by Town . My husband has disabilities and what I wanted for him was not attended to . Read my review of Hotel.
Loved everything about Cooperstown & surrounding areas. I think I could live here. Scenery was BEAUTIFUL. like stepping back in time. Enjoyed the Hall of Fame, wax museum, shops etc. Was relaxing to sit down by the lake. Very clean town & felt safe. The Farmhouse resturant was amazing, food & staff. Will go back sometime for sure & would stay at the same hotel. Perfect location, friendly helpful staff, clean & comfortable room, wonderful breakfast. One of best vacations yet. Definitely rate a 10
Hall of fame was great, clean and safe during Covid times; very friendly staff; take a walk to the lake it was gorgeous as well. Town was quiet when we went so not a whole lot open beside the museum and a restaurant
A beautiful village, made more so by the paucity of tourists. We enjoyed the quiet that residents can enjoy for seven months of the year, without the cold! Farmers' Museum is unique, and a must-visit.
The baseball Hall of Fame was amazing! We ate at several restaurants... Mel’s and the Doubleday Cafe. We also ordered pizza from New York Pizzeria. All were very good. Visiting in the dead of winter is not the best idea because everything closes down early, or is already closed for the season. There was little to do after 5 aside from trying to remain warm in the 13 degree weather. The people of Cooperstown are super friendly and the architectural details of the buildings are like stepping back into time. It truly is a piece of Americana!
Cooperstown
We were in Town for baseball. Although our team was playing in Oneonta, as grandparents we didn't mind the 40-minute ride. It was actually enjoyable for us. We stayed in the cabin and it was perfect. Being greeted by Genevieve each morning was a perfect way to start the day. Her breakfasts were exceptional, especially the day we left at 6 a.m. for a 7:30 game and she greeted us at our car with her homemade breakfast sandwiches! Can't say enough good things about our stay! The cabin was surrounded with wild raspberries! The view of the Lake was so very peaceful. Would certainly recommend!
