Over looking the lake is so relaxing but its unfortunate that it was raining for 2 days so we spend more time visiting museums around the vicinity. The house is so well kept & clean.

My husband and I traveled first weeks of off season when weather was mild and foliage colors alive. Arrived on a Thursday evening to check in and visited Hall of Fame Friday. Cooperstown is a wonderful throwback town in the mountains. An enthusiastic baseball fan could spend hours, possibly 2 days+ taking in all the history presented. Enjoyed visiting history outside of major city in this lovely landscape. Thank you to the residents of this beautiful town for keeping it alive. Visited late October, no crowds. Even though some places were closed for the season, we don’t feel like we missed much. Museum was not crowded so easy to take time and read to experience. Mel’s 22 was fantastic for dinner… best to reserve ahead.

We usually visit Cooperstown in the summer but the fall is much nicer. In the summer the town is packed with little leaguers, which is to be expected. There are so many other places to visit outside of Cooperstown including the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Oneonta which is 30 minutes away from Cooperstown.

Cooperstown is a charming village, very walkable with excellent restaurants and shops. We especially liked the Doubleday Cafe which had gluten free bread available. The Baseball Hall of Fame is located in the village with reasonable cost parking available a short walk away. The Fenimore Art Museum and Farm Museums are close by. A very pleasant place. We watched a baseball game at Double Day Field to conclude our very pleasant day there.

Cooperstown is one the most beautiful places to visit and stay. In fact we are considering moving there one day that's how much we love it. It's clean and safe and the houses are just so picturesque...the people who do live there should be very proud ....they take excellent care of their homes and make the area so beautiful. The lakes are gorgeous. The hall of fame is so interesting if you enjoy baseball...Doubleday field is awesome and well kept...the shops and restaurants are top notch with very friendly staff. Doubleday Cafe has the best waffle you'll ever eat...the Hawkeye Grill has the best cheeseburger and prime rib panini you will ever taste and the view is beyond heavenly. Bottom line, if you want a relaxed, fun, just plain nice vacation...you will never go wrong with a stay in Cooperstown.

Glimmerglass lake Is beautiful, ride the Glimmerglass Queen.

Glimmerglass lake Is beautiful, ride the Glimmerglass Queen. Do the rail bikes, very neat and very easy to pedal. Fly Creek orchard for lunch, they have lots of neat things to look at, Brookwood point is a lovely old garden, you can rent a kayak and go out on the lake. Don't go to town during the baseball induction week. Fairly easy to find what your looking for and all the employees we encountered were very kind.
