Fort Bragg just has it. The Pacific, that cool Californian feel and lots of shops and places to hang out or eat. It also did not feel over run or over touristy and was much more affordable than the coast further South. High recommended. I’d go back straight away if I could!
Nice. Clean. Not a lot of homeless around like a lot of coastal towns. Friendly people. Lots to do. Would not bother eating at Silvers at the harbor. But Sea Pal at the harbor was super good. Fresh fish.
We had such a great time in Fort Bragg. Highlights were the Botanical Gardens, the Overtime Brewery (fantastic food and beer) and the downtown shops. The beaches were great also, though the weather was a bit cool and foggy. OH, and the Princess restaurant down at the harbor was fantastic. Great views, beer and food, and some local music.
First and foremost, remember it is cold and rains alot. Summer is most likely the best time to go but can be crowded as this is a tourist town. Covid has left this town with lots of empty shops. Silvers for seafood was good!
I think Mendocino County needs a marketing director. This was an absolutely wonderful stay and I only wish we had stayed longer. I didn't know anything about the area Or I would have stayed here 2 nights instead of 2 nights at the Benbow historical hotel. Wish to have a delicious lunch at the Noyo Harbor Inn, and visited the Mendocino botanical gardens.
Be sure to visit Eggheads restaurant for breakfast! Their pumpkin banana with almond whipped cream waffles is fantastic, and they have excellent coffee and very nice staff. The only downside is that there is no bathroom available at present, so one has to go across the street to another building. Still, I'd eat there again if I could! Also, the downtown area has some interesting shops to look at. We couldn't visit the beaches due to physical reasons, but I understand that there are some really nice ones to see.
Fort Bragg
one of the few places in fort bragg where you can easily park a boat. Excellent video surveillance on site too so you don’t have to worry about your boat disappearing in the middle of the night. rooms are clean and smell good (which isn’t guaranteed in fort bragg). it’s a motel for sure (it’s in the name) but it is tidy, well maintained, and usually priced reasonably (can get a little steep when the Tuna come in). I’m a fan!
Fort Bragg
We have enjoyed our trip to Fort Bragg and our stay at the Colonial Inn. We came to ride the skunk train. The room we had was spacious and clean.we love the historical significance and the beautiful redwood used to build the house. The only thing I would like to have changed is having heat in the room, it was a little too cool.
Fort Bragg
The hotel was a little pricey for what we got but that may have been because it's in Fort Bragg. Room was clean with one bed less comfortable than the other. Reasonable breakfast choices. Places to eat in the evening nearby. Not too far from the shore.
We were so happy to find that our room actually had a sea-side view and beach access as advertised. We arrived at night then woke to this incredible scene. Many pictures later, we left to explore Fort Bragg. Charming.
Amazing view. Location is good, close to Fort Bragg and not far from Mendocino. The traffic is heavy, but you won't hear it after closing the door. The room is spacious. It is easy to find good restaurants.
Fort Bragg
The parking lot is good. The room was very clean and comfortable. Everyone we encountered was very respectful about mask wearing. The town of Fort Bragg is really taking good care of one another.
Fort Bragg
Nothing. It was dirty, uncomfortable and the hotel bear quadrupled their prices (illegally) during the wildfires. Price gouging the evacuees.
Fort Bragg
The staff was very kind to prepare a birtday card for my kid, it was great. Room was spacious and clean. Beds comfortable.
Great hotel, clean rooms, pet friendly and only a few minutes drive to beach, restaurants and shops. Friendly staff.
Fort Bragg
