Traffic is terrible, the city has been over built and the streets have not been improved to keep up with the growth. Poorly planned roads and traffic lights do not know what the traffic lights in front or behind are doing so you end up stopping at each traffic light. There are other places in FL that you can go and spend time at the beach or attractions without wasting time looking at the car in front of you.

    We stayed in Ft.

We stayed in Ft. Lauderdale a few nights before our cruise to St. Thomas , St. John. Also a few days afterwards before flying home to California. I would say Ft. Lauderdale was friendly, beautiful and clean with lunch at Coconuts restaurant on the marina the waterfront was pretty to look at and the marina was very beautiful from the 10th floor of our room at Hotel Maren. I will say it was clean and governed properly. I didn’t see one homeless person in sight or trash or tent city’s which is a far cry for all of our streets, highways and towns in California. It’s very safe and nice shopping 🛍️ easy to get Uber drivers never looked over my shoulder worried about criminal activity when we walked to Senior Frogs for drinks. 🍹

It's a nice place to relax and enjoy sandy beaches, tasty restaurants, fun water adventures, golfing, and explore many different sceneries with palm trees. The bridges and boats were nice to see. If there is one thing we didn't like about Ft. Lauderdale or Florida for that matter is the carelessness idiocracy of drivers, can't seem to ever use turn signals and can't seem to leave their homes on time because they're always driving way over the speed limits. The city also has very condensed parking lots in business areas and charge exceedingly high for parking spaces.

This was a perfect location for me as I traveled alone.

This was a perfect location for me as I traveled alone. I easily walked to beach, restaurants, music, shops, and great Ice Cream places, and always felt safe. There always seemed to be 2 Police Officers somewhere in the area and they were very kind when dealing with people. AND I didn't have to rent a car, which was wonderful. Not needing a car added to the relaxation I was looking for.

The location was superb. A couple of minutes walk to the beach. The hotel provided beach chairs and shades as well as sun screen if needed. The grounds and pool were immaculate and the room was spacious, modern and very clean with all amenities you would need. Parking was available and free on a first come first served basis but was never a problem for us. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and we would not hesitate to return if visiting the area in the future. A hidden gem in Fort Lauderdale

An original 1960s Beach Front hotel that hasn’t changed much since then. Clean and tidy, but a little rough around the edges. As the manager said it’s a classic. Don’t expect 5star luxury, it’s not that kind of place. It has free parking, free WiFi, a pool a great bar / restaurant, and it’s 20yards from the beach. A budget hotel in the middle of Fort Lauderdale, you could not ask for more.

Very good service from the hotel manager. The hotel is being renovated so consider it to be up & coming, but the older room I was in was certainly comfy and clean, and it stayed cool in the Florida summer. The pool area is very nice, the grounds are well kept, and it's very close to the beach
