I enjoyed the beach. MURDOCHS gift shop serve some pretty good margaritas. Bubba Gump Shrimp, located at the Pleasure Pier, was disappointing. The shrimp and seafood balls were overcooked. I ordered my food to go, so I didn't find that out until I made it back to my room.
Everyone we met in Galveston was so friendly! We loved shopping and hanging out on The Strand and we ate great at America’s Kitchen, The Spot, Cajun Greek, Brick House and even IHOP was good! Seawall Blvd was busy and lots of people watching. We skipped walking Pleasure Pier as they charge $11 just to walk on the pier. Our favorite part was the night we spent hanging out at the pool bar at the Hilton - the music, staff, drinks, and vibe were amazing!
i went there because my grand-daughter wanted too, i don't like the place. it's too dirty. the beaches from corpus christi on south are better. the beaches in florida are great not like this beach.
Galveston is a great place to visit, with may restaurants and activities. For the younger crowd, (maybe some older) the night life isn't the best. Getting around Galveston is easy, whether in your own transportation or renting a bike, slingshot or other modes of transport on the island. My favorite spots are hanging on the strand and first thing is the morning going for breakfast at Star Drugs Store.
The beaches were great , and the waters were safe as very low waves . The actual resort was a bit like Blackpool in the UK ? Meaning it was quite a down market area. The Seaford restaurant landrys next to our hotel was nice but expensive and closed at 9pm ? Which seems early , as in the uk would be 11pm or later ? Had breakfast in ihop as never been before, but wouldn’t go there again as food wasn’t great -( used tinned fruit for pancakes ) which weren’t that good ? Went to the Waffle House second morning which was much better , and had eggs , bacon etc 10/10 . We understand it’s busier at the weekends so were glad we visited in the week for our first three days of our road trip in Texas .
There are definitely prettier beaches in the US, but Galveston is a okay get away for the weekend. If it's a clear morning the sun rises are beautiful. Moody gardens aquarium and rainforest are a beautiful activity.
So when I booked my hotel I put in a pet friendly this came up right away with you guys when I got there they informed me that they’re absolutely not pet friendly and that it’s a $250 fine not only that the room was completely disgusting and trashed with no AC that worked and then they refuse to put us in a room with working air conditioner we actually got up and left and had to go find another hotel with no refund or anything and the staff was very very rude
The room was spacious and comfy. The pool area was really nice and not over crowded. Pool bar and hot tub were a great addition. The cafe was also nice, price wise and atmosphere wise, good food. The Restaurant and Lounge on the top floor had great view, nice service, good food, and exceptional desserts. The hotel is only a few minutes away from Galveston Beach and great local restaurants. Will come back and try the spa and the attractions next time.
The location was in historic downtown Galveston. Hotel was very clean with friendly helpful staff. Covid-19 os stressful enough but the staff adheres to all safety protocols and ensured staff did also. Rooms were very nice and we rested well. The bar and cafe are primo. Parking can be a hassle on the street but the valet service is well worth the $20 per day charge. We will stay here again. I felt completely safe with my 5 and 18 month kids and hubby.
The lady at the front desk has a wonderful personality, was very honest and still had a sense of humor! Her vibes made our stay such a wonderful experience at this hotel! I come to Galveston ALL the time but this was my first time staying at this hotel and I will definitely be back!! Breakfast was great and very nice clean rooms. Loved our stay here!
My sister and I were taking a cruise out of Galveston and Clairon Pointe offered free parking which saved us having to park at the port. This was the main reason I booked here. The hotel was easy to get to and close enough to the port that the cost of a Uber was minimal. The hotel was above my expectations.
Galveston
This house is gorgeous, Tammy and her staff are very friendly and go out of their way to accomodate. We love the Strand area of Galveston and the Schaefer Haus is within walking distance of all the fun and restaurants. Breakfast is great and the Happy Hour is such a treat. Highly recommend !!
Good first impression entering the hotel. Carpets need cleaning or replacement though. Nice comfortable room with good facilities. Good bed. No remarks on the room. Forgot my travel plug outlet from US to Europe. Wonder if someone notices ;-)
Basic place to stay for lowest prices in the middle of the action by the Seawall. Fantastic place to stay if you just need a place to leave your stuff as you go do Galveston activities. AC got good and cold. Furn etc were worn, but clean.
Galveston

The fromt desk girl Stephanie is amazing very well educated on galveston. Shes to smart m sweet to be working for that man. Choice needs to have her to one of their higher emd hotels.
Pros: The location was great, the price was significantly lesser than other hotels. Front desk staff were friendly.
Everything was a great! Will definitely be booking this hotel again in the future the next tome I visit Galveston.
location and view were the ONLY things I would expect of a $300 a night hotel.
The exterior of the hotel looks great. The swimming pool was nice.
Comfort, cleanliness and proximity to beaches and restaurants.
Better this go around hands down
