Surprisingly cool city with decent downtown area and many surrounding neighborhoods worth checking out for food, drinks, shopping. Great hiking in nearby parks. Would have spent an extra day there if I had the time.
If your an out of state tourist , you have the Capital building to see. Holter lake is not to far away and I hear that the "Gates of the Mountians" tour is very seanic and pretty. I suppose there is other things to do there also but I only come over to Helena once in a great while to visit Fort Harrison for medical appointments.
It was a good facility Front staff was very friendly The morning dining room attendant was nowhere to be seen until we were ready to leave so some supplies were in need of replenishing Overall stay was satisfactory
Hard to answer this question. I was in for my sister's funeral, so I didn't get around the city like I would probably have done. I also awoke to three inches of snow and the sound of plows. It was a high of 2 degrees, and a low of -8. With all of this, I'm not the best person to make a review. But - St. Mary's church is beautiful; Anderson Stevenson funeral home personnel were excellent; and Jade Court restaurant excellent with great staff. Staff at Applebee's great as well.
We are Canadian neighbours just across the border and used to like to visit Great-falls for a weekend of shopping and a get away but it has lost so many stores that it is no longer a destination. Helena seems to have a bit more to explore so when the weather is better, we may head down that way.
Helena is easy to get around; good shopping; a new airport with 2 hr free parking and in a beautiful setting. We didn't do much site seeing this time, but there is much to do -- the Capitol, the museum, downtown with Last Chance Gulch, so many restaurants -- a great Montana city to vacation in.
As soon as we pulled up I was like "shoooooot....we should have went with a more expensive hotel". It smelt awful, the couch literally had a super gross recent stain on it. The bed was clean and quite comfy (this was the only good experience). But I was scared we were going to find a druggies stash in the walls or in the couch! So ya.... I would definitely not go there again. O and btw, I was a housekeeper in my early years. So I know what type of things should pass and what not. This was BAD!
Everything. It was perfect for our little family. Enough space for my husband & I, & our 3 kids. This was our first air b&b & this place has convinced us to always check out places like this before a hotel. It was just like being at home. The kids had their own rooms, we didn't have to go out to eat, there was a washer & dryer, everything was clean and it just felt like a home.
The hotel was perfect for our one night stop. The room was spacious with great toilet. We used the laundry room and gym, and both were great. Specially the gym: really well equiped and accessible. Furthermore, the staff was always keen to help us and the breakfast was very good. It had a lot of options and even (for me very important) a non diary option milk for my coffe. Thanks for that!
Our room layout was really functional and unique in that it didn’t look like a run of the mill hotel room. The extra space made it really comfortable. It was also very clean. The breakfast had a nice variety of items. I was impressed by how many oatmeal toppings were offered. We really enjoyed the hot tub after being outside in the chilly weather all day.
Good comfortable hotel conveniently located. The full breakfast ( eggs, bacon etc. .) served at the restaurant of the hotel and included in the price of the room made it an excellent value.
Room was big and clean, breakfast was good and the area was clean and well maintained. The lady in charge was restocking very well. The hotel was nicely located and quiet. Bed was comfy.
Overall a quality hotel and quality stay. The doorstop however decided to tear itself out of the wall and a gaping hole remained for the duration of stay.
Location was good, easy to walk around downtown from hotel. Staff was very friendly. Bed was very comfortable.
Great bed, soup and cookies for supper, very clean exceptional indoor pool/HOT HOT-TUB. 10+ hotel.
I've stayed at many of the hotels around the city and this hotel has the most comfortable beds.
Hotel was noisy, did not sleep well. AC unit also sounded like a jet plane. Breakfast was great.
Nothing at all it was a horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anybody!
Just traveling through, but this was one of the better hotels we stayed at on our road trip
A cheep place in the center of Helena. A one nigth perfect place.
