For a small hotel the atmosphere was very welcoming an smelled very clean. When we got to the room, it was fresh, and the room smelled very linen. The sheets, floor, curtains, and bathroom all were very well kept. I would definitely recommend this hotel for comfort and cleanliness.

The CIA (Culinary Institute of America) was nearby and available for dining at a reasonable cost but reservations had to be made many days in advance. The Roosevelt Estate and Vanderbilt Mansion were well worth taking the time to tour. South in Poughkeepsie there is a Hudson River Walk going over the Hudson River on an old Railroad bridge than was really nice

Gorgeous area, lots to see and do.

Gorgeous area, lots to see and do. Lots of history and architecture you don't see just anywhere. The Culinary Institute of America is mind-blowing! Also, the Vanderbilt Mansion is just up the road, as well as FDR's library. The inn we stayed at had a historic stacked-flagstone wall on the property. We ate a the Eveready Diner when we got there, which looks and feels like you're transported to the 50's. Most everything in Hyde Park is accessible from a main street that runs through town alongside the Hudson. There were a multitude of options to stay at, and things to do, so I highly recommend this area for anyone, especially those who appreciate architecture and history. We tend to take lots of pictures, but also try to balance that with actually experiencing things in real-time, so I don't have pics to upload, but there are no shortage of them online.

Historical area with Vanderbilt and Mills mansions in addition to FDR Presidential library to visit. Best of all was Culinary Institute of America which has several restaurants serving outstanding meals. Be sure to get a reservation well in advance. We visited in early Spring so much more happening in surrounding towns in Summer

Hyde Park is not a large town but close to the large Poughkeepsie if you need more excitement. All Roosevelt parks were within 10 mn drive plus the Vanderbilt mansion. Quite interesting tours and information. Try a meal at the Eveready Diner where there is a food for every taste.

We had booked and paid for 2 nights. However, we could never locate the property as the proper and complete address were not given. The host would not answer phone calls. Ultimately after having driven around for more than 3 hours trying in vain to locate the property we had to check in a hotel at 2 am in the night. The following day also the host would neither answer our calls or calls from the aggregator booking.com through which we had booked the property. We were cheated.

The breakfast was delicious. With a great variety, portion sensitive approach which reduces waste. A very nice balance between modern style and country chic. The hotel is very quiet, the parking lot was quite full but we never heard excessive noise or felt any kind of overcrowding.

A basic hotel, but good value for a comfortable bed. Staff spoke very little English so communication not easy. Breakfast items basic and quickly ran out, and were not replaced
