We will definitely be back again!

Located in Joshua Tree, 0.8 mi from Joshua Tree Visitor Center and 3.7 mi from Lower Covington Flat, Lous in JT offers a garden and air conditioning. This was such a fun place to stay at, I wish we had more time.
Pool was cold and dirty, room had a lot of dog hair on the floor, no hot water in shower, unsafe area for kids (many people near property loitering and drinking alcohol). Walls are very thin and we could hear every word of the neighbors (we were in room 7). My daughter did not feel safe. We left after one night (purchased 2 nights originally). Caan the property manager will not return my calls to follow-up on refund. $278 for one night in an unsafe and dirty room. Very disappointing.
In all fairness the food and kitchen staff were amazing. Im taking about Joshua Tree Resort here. I think they are in financial trouble so be wary of what you are paying for. You will not get reimbursed.
Not a huge park but lots of variety to see, great sights from the road or with short walks. You can see two deserts in one day - Mohave & Colorado! Be sure to stop at the visitors center and the exhibits along the road to learn about what makes the park and the desert so special. Walk and really look around and you will see how the desert has a lot of variety of plant life, rocks, geology, animals (if you're lucky to see some!), etc. Has some good hikes that aren't too difficult or too long. I loved 49 Palms Oasis, and enjoyed all of the wildflowers! I tried to go on the Contact Mine trail but lost the trail right away and wandered around for quite some time....which was still fun and I had a great hike...watch carefully for the red trail markers because the trail is basically a sandy, dry river bed but there are lots of offshoots and if you miss a sign, you may go off in another direction. Drive through the campgrounds among the giant boulders... very interesting! Stop at Campbell Hill Bakery in 29 Palms - outstanding sandwiches, cookies, and bakery items! The Joshua Tree Saloon & Grill has a lot of character and my meal of flat iron steak was delicious!! I was disappointed that so many shops in 29 Palms, Joshua Tree and Yucca Valley are closed early in the week.... I was there on Monday and Tuesday in mid-March and many stores were open only Thur-Sun.
Lots of wonderful hikes of varying difficulty and terrain. I found the park to be quite beautiful and unique. We were rewarded for our hike up Ryan Mountain with bighorn sheep beside the trail. Experienced the wrath of a cholla cactus as my leg gently brushed one and the barbed needles shot through my jeans into my thigh. Caution with children for sure! Parking is limited at many trailheads but we are early risers and had no problem. Rock scrambling opportunities are abundant. Watch for hawks in tree tops as you drive. Lots of history in the park!
I lived joshua tree national park. The town leaves a lot to be desired. There was one coffee shop in town with a line of 20 people at 7:30 a.m. there are only a few restaurants. I did not get any dinner and next day there was a long line for breakfast. Not enough infrastructure for a tourist location. I left early as did not want to go back to the park without having eaten for 24 hours and no coffee. Glad to have seen the park but would never go back because of lack of food etc.
Two of the entrances to the National Park are very close to Joshua Tree. We enjoyed the visitor centers, hikes and nature walks of various lengths and took some great sunset shots. The town is very small, but also very quiet. VERY dark, good for stargazing. It is not glamorous like Palm Springs, but friendly and not far from tourist activities. Spent one day hiking in San Jacinto State Park after taking the Palm Springs Tramway up the mountain. Beautiful, highly recommend.
Clearly this place has been updated. They did a good job! Good mattress
Location and staff kindness are top!
