About Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree, a small town in California, United States of America, is a desert oasis that offers a unique blend of natural beauty and cultural richness. Known for its hot, dry summers and mild winters, the town experiences an average temperature of 100°F in July and 60°F in December.

The town's main attraction is the Joshua Tree National Park, a vast wilderness area known for its distinctive Joshua trees and rock formations. Visitors can enjoy hiking, rock climbing, and stargazing. The town is easily navigable by car, but walking is also a popular way to explore the local shops and art galleries.

Joshua Tree's culture is deeply rooted in art and music, with numerous galleries and live music venues scattered throughout the town. The local cuisine is a reflection of the larger Southern California region, featuring dishes like fish tacos (fried fish in a tortilla) and avocado toast. The surrounding desert landscape provides a tranquil backdrop, making Joshua Tree a perfect destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat.

Beautiful scenery and places to hike in February and cooler times, but it would be too hot to hike in the prime of summer. There should be some cafes or at least a couple simple restaurants in the park and there were none. There were barely enough vault toilets to accomodate all the visitors within the park, and they were sadly not very clean or pleasant.

This is a true wonder with fantastic sunset views over Coachella valley, and with stunning granite roc formations. Try it ideally outside of long weekends as this is a bit bothering to see more cars than trees 😀.

I loved all of the thrift stores and the outdoor market was wonderful too. Fantastic places to eat like Crossroads Cafe and see live music like Pappy and Harriet's. Fun sights to see like the crochet museum and art galleries throughout the town. Beautiful national park, absolutely gorgeous place to take photographs, especially at dusk when the silhouettes of the joshua trees stand out against the setting sun. Stargazing is mesmerizing in the park at night, but also very satisfying from anywhere in town. Easy to navigate and walk around town.

Star-gazing was great but the nights in November are cold , so bundle up. Gloves and a hat would have helped. Go early in the day so there was no wait at the entrance to check in and get a pass beforehand. The views are amazing. Some trails are not marked very well, so it's easy to get lost, even on a mile easy hike. We got lost at Baker Dam and of course didn't bring everything you need on a hike, it was only 1 mile hike but turned into a 3 plus mile hike. November is a great time to go.

We spent 2 days there, but you could easily spend 3 - 4 if you wanted to visit all of the areas of the park. October was a great time to go as mid to high 20s so walking in the day was fine, though pack a light fleece if you want to do any stargazing.

We visited in late October and the temperature was in the mid to high 70s. Perfect for hiking. We came in the south entrance and spent most of our time on the north side of the park. Ryan's mountain, Keys view and the panorama loop starting at the Black Rock camp grounds were highlights. The Lost Palms Oasis near the south entrance could've been cool but it is poorly marked and you have to go off the trail down a canyon to see the best part of the oasis. We didn't do that. It was late in the day and we were a bit tired when we got to that point.

We loved everything about Casa Luisa. Communications with Joel from the beginning of the reservation to the end of our stay were excellent. The location was perfect for accessing the West entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The house itself was immaculate and so comfortable. Great beds, wonderful toiletries and the hot tub was a treat after days of hiking. So many nice and unique touches, like a lighted toilet bowl for nighttime use and a separate ice maker. We can't find fault with anything. Hope to stay again in the future.

We are repeat guests - stayed here five years ago and every bit as wonderful this time as it was then. Spectacular location (less than 10 minutes from JTNP) and clean, comfy, incredibly reasonably priced place! A bit of a snafu with key mixup with other guests when we arrived, but property manager Roy was responsive, helpful, friendly and professional. All good in the end and would definitely recommend and return if/when we return to Joshua Tree. Thank you! :)

The house was in a beautiful location with big windows to enjoy the vista into the mountains and desert . The location was convenient to both the park entrance and the services in the town of Joshua tree. The house was very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Our host was very friendly and prompt with all her communications, and she made helpful suggestions for things to do and places to eat. We would definitely stay there again.

The property feels like it is out in the middle of the desert even though you are close to the town of Joshua Tree and 30 minutes from the National Park. The views are stupendous. We enjoyed wine around the firepit each evening, reading in the hammock, and felt comfortable in the living room and master bedroom for sleeping. Nice roomy double showerhead shower. The decor of the house is very cute and stylish!

Great location for Joshua tree park. Bars, restaurants just a walk away. Decent pool and some shady areas outside to sit. The guys running the place very helpful and on hand. Cabin like rooms with kitchenette area, good for visitors to the park. Rustic cabin, no T.V. and something us Brits appreciate...a kettle...not your usual run of the mill hotel room. Would we stay here again? Yes definitely.

The property was in a quiet neighborhood very close to the park. We had a lot of fun relaxing at the house in the evenings after long days of exploring in Joshua Tree. The decor was very cute, and the kitchen was well stocked with basic essentials for our stay. Overall the house was comfortable and homey.

What an absolute gem this is! A beautiful vacation home with every amenity you could want. Pictures are accurate. Close to joshua tree national park, so it's easy to go there for both sunrise and sunset. Wonderful record collection to dance the night away. Great kitchen. Great grill in the backyard.

Wonderful location in a dessert retirement home style. Only a 5-minute drive to town and a 20-minute drive to JTNP. Very large yard with Joshua trees, cactus, and open space. Possible to charge in front of the room with a regular charger. Lovely decoration and a surprising vinyl record player!

A great cozy, non-pretentious old-style hotel very near the entrace to Joshua Tree. Great bed and super clean bathroom and 50's style kitchen. My husband thought the walls were a bit thin, but I didn't hear a thing. Manager super nice- even brought some gourmet coffee over for us.

It was a small heaven next to Joshua Tree. It felt like spending the night in one of those architectural marvels you find in the Case Study House magazines of the 50’s. The philosophy of this historic place has stayed perfect in tact. The room was just a little heaven.

Beautiful house, super clean and in a very quiet neighbourhood. Just 15 minutes down the road and you're at the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park! Brilliant place to stay. Loved the outdoor patio (was mostly too hot to use but we ate breakfast outdoors).

The property's proximity to the West entrance of Joshua Tree NP was excellent, the outdoor area, yard and views from the house added to our enjoyment. The house is tastefully decorated and well equipped. It was an excellent choice for our family of five.
