Lenox is one of the most inviting towns in the Berkshires and the beautifully restored Dr Sax House is a gem in its center. We arrived on the coldest day of winter to celebrate our wedding anniversary, but Brian and Kelly and their solicitous staff gave us the warmest welcome and most delightful stay we have had anywhere. I don't think we've ever encountered a bedroom and bathroom with so many thoughtful amenities: not just toiletries but everything you might have forgotten, not just a yoga mat but a gym bag filled with small weights and accessories. Their cozy restaurant Dulu is en suite with a beautifully appointed bar. The menu is imaginative and my baked halibut was the most delicious I have enjoyed - ever. With temperatures in the single digits it was a plus for us to be able to simply hang out at the Inn, but under balmier conditions all the artistic and culinary attractions that Lenox has to offer are right outside the door. It's also a perfect base for Tanglewood and many other local cultural activities. We look forward to our return soon!

My wife and I went for our anniversary. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and exactly what we were looking for. The in-room jacuzzi was great! The town was quiet but with plenty of restaurants, shops, and museums around. We'll definitely be back!

    Lenox seems more crowded than mid-town Manhattan in summer, especially weekends, but the town traffic control is very good and after many short stays in the area, it remains our choice destination. Be patient, find a place to park, then walk in the village. Make dinner reservations well in advance. Drive out to one of several near-by walking places (and/or drives). Choose from the many mansions open for touring in Lenox or within driving distance (e.g., The Mount (my favorite), Ventfort Hall, Arrowhead, etc.) and art museums nearby (the Clark Art in Williamstown is amazing). Stroll in the peaceful Berkshires Botanical Garden (Stockbridge). Make a plan and then deviate at will.

    Lenox is a small, pretty, quiet New England town.

    Lenox is a small, pretty, quiet New England town. Summertime visit and everything is green and lush, and flowers are in bloom everywhere. Very little downtown area so you’l see it in a couple of hours at most and then you’re done. If you are going there to see a concert at Tanglewood, (also in Lenox), this is the town to stay. If you are going to the Berkshires for excitement, nightlife, however, it’s not happening here. Nice meal (late one lunch/early dinner) at the Old Heritage Tavern in their outdoor patio in back. All four of us were happy with our meal choices and very pleasant waitress. All the shopkeepers we came across (artist studios, home goods, clothing stores) were really friendly and helpful.

    We have visited Lenox many times over the last ten year and...

    We have visited Lenox many times over the last ten year and always have a great time. We love Haven for breakfast regardless of the long lines, it's worth the wait! Highly recommend Alta for dinner and across the street you will find an ice cream truck for desert. The town is charming with lots of sitting areas, shops and very close to museums and local sites like the Edith Wharton House and Gardens and Norman Rockwell Museum. You will need a car to get around. Don't forget Tanglewood if you want to see the Boston Pops or James Taylor. You can picnic with friends and family, always a wonderful evening while relaxing on the lawn. For a great family activity on the lake, rent a pontoon boat at Berkshire U-Drive. A short drive from Lenox but lots of fun!

    Frankie’s Restaurant was recommended but we had a very poor experience there. We were seated in what served as a hall for waiters to and from the kitchen, my companion’s food was a fish substituted for the trout they ran out of and was dry and left on his plate. My pasta with wild mushrooms was a disappointment as the mushrooms were undercooked and too chewy and the sauce was watery. Expensive and poor quality all in all. Zinc, however, was a great restaurant. The atmosphere was really nice, not so loud you could not speak. The food was fabulous. We would highly recommend this restaurant!

    Good area to go shopping and eat. Very walkable. Drive through very pretty neighborhoods. Plan trip in advance if you want to go to Tanglewood or Shakespeare and Co theater. ?cafe zinc was delicious tho expensive. You need reservations in advance. Traveled under an hour to fabulous Clarke Museum in Williamstown- beautiful grounds as well plus ingormal places to eat. Live driving up Mt Greylick- lots of hiking trails there too!

    Quaint New England village in the heart of the Berkshires. The area is thick with cultural opportunities, especially in the summer time. We were there during the first snow of fall/winter 2024. We still liked it!

    Beautiful grounds and very comfortable rooms. Very close to the Edith Wharton mansion. Really good breakfast. Free bikes to cycle over around the area. Its located out of town which is what I was looking for but that may not be to everyone's liking. It's just a 5 min drive to Lenox village centre. And close to all the sights in the area - Rockwell museum, Mouument Mtn, Bash Bush waterfalls, Lee, Stockbridge, etc.

    Welcoming staff, great location just off the main streets in Lenox. This is a beautifully maintained and elegant old inn of character. Bedroom space was generous (king bedroom) and there were nice touches like continuous coffee, apple cider and snacks in the breakfast room beside reception. The area was brimming with Fall colour. Lenox is a great starting point for touring this part of the Berkshires.

    The lady at reception was so helpful and friendly! She makes the experience. Didn't even realize we were in ski country until she asked if we were there for skiing. The hotel was easy to get to, fast check in and has a pool and hot tub so a no brainer for a night's stop in on our way from Toronto to NYC. Read through their brochures they had and decided I might go ski there next winter.
