I've been going to Minocqua for years Some spent at cottages some hotels Love the beauty quiet great to get away Ate at plantation one night (very good) Walked downtown shopped had a few beers talked to locals and visitors
Good food and good friends, beautiful city and community, lots to do, pretty drives thru trees and around boundless lakes, we go 1 to 2 times a year and always find more things to do. Easy to get around the island and surrounding communities, Try Monica's pizza or holiday cafe, the boathouse, North Fork or Norwood pines, you won't be disappointed.
Close to hospital and even though we don't live in Minocqua I was I knew how to get back to 51 without going business district. Hope to be able to come and visit without going to hospital or clinic and spend the day. Beautiful country, Would have come earlier but to many things to do first at home.
Beautiful views. Some great restaurants on the lake front and right on the lake. Fantastic downtown storefronts . Monday is St. Germain flea Market which.is super huge . A must visit. Will come back again and again. BJ's Burger Barn is awesome. Bad Bones BBQ if your a BBQ lover is a must. The Outback Bar and Grill had fantastic sandwiches 😋
Beautiful town. The Min-Aqua-Bat ski show is well done. Its run by college and youth who are vacationing for the summer in Minocqua. We did the Northeastern Zip Lining which was awesome. Wish we had booked two things to do as they offered 1/2 price on the second item. I would have tried the ATV. If you like to fish or just want to rent a boat or water ski they have them available. Great fishing. There are a variety of shops. Some include work from local artist. Once you arrive in downtown and park everything is within walking distance. Parking was free. We ate two meals at the Boathouse which is right on the lake. There was a little wait but worth it. The Walleye was delicious. While we waited we went across the street to the realtor office as they had set up outside games - junga and corn hole. It made the time go fast. We also ate at Murtaugh's Pub. The food was delicious and plentiful. Bring cash or you will pay a 3% fee for credit card. We also went miniature golfing (not Holiday) and finished the game with frozen custard. Delicious. At Holiday there is horseback riding. We didn't do it this time but have in the past. The horses are well cared for.
The city was beautiful, traffic a bit hectic . People at the museum very friendly and informative of the history. No one objected to our dog anywhere. Didn't stay long enough to find anything to avoid. Would come back often
We liked the central location for everything the Minocqua area offers. Price was lower than average for a high demand vacation town. The counter person was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom, sheets, and towels were clean. Plenty of pillows. Adequate toiletries were stocked. The continental breakfast choices were decent and kept filled. The parking lot was well lit and clean.
Never did the breakfast. Convenient location in the downtown area of Minocqua. Nice bar area.
