The place is a hidden gem. Great comfortable rooms, exceptional views of the lakeside location, true nature around, night sky with starts is amazing thanks to no light pollution around. The fireplace in the lobby just lovely - spent all my 3 nights there chilling. But the most adorable are the owners - they really care and made me feel like I belong there. The breakfast food was in fact home made; though I'm not a fan of american-diner-style cusine, this was something special and I was surprised by the variety offered. And the bar, of course. You can truly feel that this place is run with great love. Totally recommend and will go there again if visiting Maine next time. And yes, in summer, canoe and boat rides are offered!

This was the best motel we've ever stayed at, everything was perfect, very welcoming, cozy, and convenient, we really liked the cleanliness, the recent upgrades, the overall home-like feeling of the rooms and the veranda, loved the breakfast setting and the owners are very responsive, pleasant people. It was the only place in the area that offered a room for more than 4 people! We saved at least $100 per night by booking one room in a clean, upgraded, and highly rated Yardarm Motel, instead of paying for 2 rooms at some mediocre, chain hotel.

They were exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay.

They were exceptionally accommodating throughout our stay. We had a vintage travel trailer that they accommodated with an extra space for parking. I have a severe gluten allergy, and I let them know ahead of time... my breakfast was prepared with exceptional care to my dietary needs and was delicious! The property is absolutely stunning, quiet, and quaint. My only regret was that we did not stay another night to fully appreciate the peace and tranquility.

Beautiful location on the edge of a peaceful and beautiful lake. Canoes and kayaks are available for use free of charge. And there is a dock and small entry slope for swimming. We saw bald eagles nesting on a nearby island. The hotel lit the campfire next to the lake and we sat out chilling and chatting with other guests under the full moon. A truly memorable night. Breakfast was excellent too.
