Enjoyed the museum, particularly the musical instrument museum. The MIM has motorized wheelchairs and is ADA-friendly. We spent a day there. I wish we had spent two. Worth the trip to Scottsdale.
Phoenix is very busy. Rather difficult to get around and park if you have a car. Imagine it's great to walk in. Lots of interesting things to see. Good food,

Check in was easy, the parking was good.
The staff at the front desk, the bar tender, complementary Happy hour drinks & food all made for a fun stay. Our room was large & had a separate living room with microwave & Fridge & coffee service. Breakfast was good. Staff was super friendly & always willing to help. We will stay there again.

A wonderful, amazing city. The weather was very pleasant the time of year I was there. The mornings and evenings were cool. The city is a simple grid, easy to find your way around. There are amazing and historical neighborhoods bordered by the main streets. Lots of good, fun restaurants, cafes and markets. Phoenix offers much for a variety of interests like shopping and culture. Definitely worth a trip.

Phoenix, just a hundred years ago a frontier town, is now a giant, sprawling suburb of fie million with most every block looking the same as the last one. It's uber dependent upon cars to get around, with few bike lanes. It does have good sidewalks in most places. There are churches and mega churches next to strip and sex clubs, adult video stores next to casinos and the usual offering of bad fast food. It really is indistinguishable from other southwest cities like Vegas except for the magnificent hills, mountains and desert surrounding it. But be prepared to witness a very large, destitute homeless population that fill up all the bus stop at night. Maricopa county does have programs to help prevent homelessness, and conducts outreach and assessment and referral though I saw NO one doing outreach anywhere in the city while I was there for over six weeks. I spoke with more than a score of street people and NONE had ever met an outreach worker. Then theres the meth problem, not unlike south Florida. I talked with folks who had things stolen from their cars while filling up with gas, harassed for a dollar, etc. Then there's the drivers: they are lawless and dangerous, frequently passing on the right or in the breakdown lanes going over 100 miles an hour, often with NO front or rear to the vehicles, no headlights, no rear lights, no mufflers, etc: uninsured and dangerous. I witnessed three fatal crashes while visiting on the 17 and I10. The state has a high vehicular homicide rate of 17.5 per every 100,000, among the top ten worst in the country. Not sure I will return though I love the Sonoran desert.

Phoenix is a place where you don't come for nice meetups you come too, get beat up by the Heat!!! Phoenix has some nice gems that you can find downtown is always a beautiful one lit up at night. I will say that people really don't know how to drive and they don't know what a speed limit is but neither do the cops do either there's just a guilty as any regular driver. Over the past year I will say Phoenix has been cleaning up pretty nicely with the homeless and the drug addicts out here the crime rate is still the same it's really not too much of a safe place I can say but why don't you look past all that and you see our beautiful sunset you'll know why people come and talk about Phoenix.

It's Phoenix just don't go after April and stay away until September if you're going to have fun and enjoy the winter weather there's a lot to enjoy. Be careful of law enforcement and you'll be okay they're never friendly to anyone.

Save yourself pain, grief, and possibly very serious assaults and/or being robbed.
Only book rooms at the well established high end Hotels. ( Hilton, The points, etc.)
There are fantastic day trips outside the Maricopa County areas, but I would highly recommend going North past the city lights. Just take I-17 North towards Camp Verde and explore. Just absolutely beautiful scenery.
The Mountain-side City of Jerome is stunning and a not to miss. Caution, the drive up there is a two hands on the steering wheel, white knuckle experience but well worth it. A very historic Town with draw dropping views from everywhere you look. Just be courteous and polite to the town folk and you'll be just fine. You will have fond memories to look back on to for a lifetime. Just unbelievable.

Phoenix is not a city but a giant suburb that embraces the nineteenth century version of itself - the Wild West. From the miles and miles of indistinguishable suburbs which ARE Phoenix to the mega churches with sex clubs next door (more sex clubs than I've ever seen anywhere) to the unregistered, uninsured cars missing tail lights, headlights, front ends, mufflers, to the insane drivers who often pass on the right or in the breakdown lanes going over 100 mph it is a lawless place plastered with billboards advertising ambulance chasing lawyers, plastic surgeons and casinos. I witnessed three fatal crashes in three weeks while traveling the city for work. Then theres the homeless populations who shack up at every bus stop overnight - the most destitute I've seen anywhere. The surrounding desert, the Sonoran, on the other hand is magnificent. From Tonto National recreation area (sadly strewn with trash and frequented by boozing boaters blaring acid rock) to Flagstaff, Sedona, Bisbee and Tombstone etc, this is a state rife with deep contradictions. And a very high crime rate at the tenth most dangerous place in the US.

Phoenix is a beautiful city with tons of delicious food! I had sushi, Mexican, Chinese, and Soul food to name a few. I will get around to Greek, Arabic, more Mexican, and more Soul food next! I can't get enough of the Phoenix skyline and the drive up South Mountain! I have to find a partner or group to get a whole bunch of hiking in! At several different parks in the evening you will find basketball pick-up games to join. I love Phoenix AZ!!!

Unless you like hiking with consistent desert scenery, museums, or zoos, after a few days there isn’t much to do. I checked out the Calle 16 Project, Dobbins Lookout, South Mountain & Papago Park, Sonoran Preserve, Melrose, and a handful of restaurants. The preserve and parks may save you money vs visiting the Botanical Gardens.

I've been to Phoenix multiple times, although it's been over 10yrs, to see family. Phoenix has changed quite a bit but still fairly easy to navigate around. There are millions of things to see and do and places to eat very good food - a time to try something new - it doesn't matter if its just you or multiple people in your group. Don't be afraid to ask for points of interest as the people are more than willing to help you out and find something your interested in. I'd recommend going to South Mountain especially in the early spring to see the desert in bloom as it is absolutely gorgeous! And the view of the city/cities is awesome!

Not a big fan of the city, but the desert, the mountains, and the running trails are the main attraction for me.
Traffic in the area is always a nightmare. Drivers are extremely aggressive, especially in or near construction areas.
Every year we run the Black Canyon Ultra and it is one of our favorite middle distance runs with an option for running either the 100K on Saturday, the 50K on Sunday, or enjoy the experience of running both days. Great training for the longer distance runs.

Great place to visit we love Phoenix. Plenty to do - hiking, site seeing, restaurants - Loved Chino Bandito (Chinese/Mexican cuisine). Native great sports bar even greater BBQ chicken strippers, Rocket Burger with over 120 bottled soft drinks and the best Frys. Recommend going to Cave Creek for artisans, The Boulders where boulders are built into the houses! South Mountain lets you see the whole valley.

I was in Phoenix for GCU’s graduate school commencement and I was blown away by how beautiful the city is. I found myself staring out the window during landing because I saw the most serene clear blue skies and orange hills/mountains.
The city had this tint over it, not in a sense of pollution but, a tint that reminds you of a peaceful dream.
Each person I came across, from the airport customer service representative to my Uber driver. Everyone was so nice and jovial.
Phoenix is as beautiful as it is hot. If you’re visiting in the summertime, please pack your sunscreen, handheld fan, comfortable clothes and water.
But, I definitely plan to come back to visit and stay for a longer time.

Don't miss the Desert Botanical Garden - beautiful and your ticket is good ALL DAY even if you leave and then come back for the night lights - lots of museums and we went to a wonderful theater play - we hiked and shopped in Scottsdale etc...

Phoenix was great for our first night, we ventured out to walmart before we went to bed to get some things for the rest of our trip, when we arrived at the walmart in tempe it was half closed and everything including the $2.99 shampoo was under lock and key which gave us an unfavorable veiw of the city, but what we could see in daytime made it a place we may explore in the future for a few days

A metropolis of concrete and and wonderful architecture. There really is something for everyone.
Being from Tucson I am always boasting that Tucson feels more of a mellow down to earth city that doesn't feel like one.
But as soon as I arrive in Phoenix my BP goes up and the exciting pulse of the city get me pumping on all eight cylinders.
From the famous Biltmore to Talesian West. From old town Scottsdale to the University area, the city offers culture and plenty of history to keep you entertained and busy.
Leave the snow behind. It's hotter here and in January and February it's great!

I live in Phoenix just got evicted from my apartment and needed a inexpensive place to stay that way close by my old address so I could move my belongings into storage. The econo lodge I-17 was close and convenient.

The museums are first rate. I will go back to the Heard, the Phoenix Art Museum, and the Pioneer Living Museum again. The Ben Avery Shooting Center and the Game and Fish Wildlife Center is interesting. One day I would like to do the sunrise balloon ride.

We spend only a few nights at the end of a trip in Phoenix. It is similar to any other city and we probably wouldn't return unless there was a reason to go such as a concert. The city was easy to get around and the accommodation was of good standard. We spent an evening in Scottsdale which was nice to look around the old town part and enjoyed Mexican food at Barrio Queen. Clay shooting at the ranges was a good experience and we had the final dinner at the Arrogant Butcher which was an excellent restaurant, but definitely needs a booking before

I love Holiday Inn hotels in general and this time I again got exactly what I expected. The room is spacious and clean.
I especially loved breakfast, there were not only pancakes but scrambled eggs and cinnamon rolls to choose from.
The good quality bathroom amenities are great.
We travelled by car so the location was OK for us, we were able to reach everything quite easily in Phoenix.

This hotel is ideal for visiting Scottsdale and Central Phoenix. Access to the rooms are outdoors which is ideal for unloading a car from the parking lot. Grills and a centrally located ice machine, as well as breakfast was convenient.
Refrigerator and microwave were appreciated.

Loved this hotel. Staff were great. Swimming pool was great with lots of loungers and plenty of room.
The gym had ample free weights and can have a good workout.
The breakfasts were great.
Would stay here again for sure
