Salida is a great mountain town that is dog and skater friendly and has a thriving art scene and modern downtown district. Also, located near so many great mountain attractions: Monarch Pass, Mount Princeton Hot Springs, golf, numerous hikes and biking trails, and of course the best, Great Sand Dunes! I would recommend a stay here to anyone! (Try to stay a week because a long weekend just isn't enough.)
Its a quaint, small Hotel with a nice room. We were travelling with our dog and that was accepted, maybe for that we got a larger room at the side which was prefect. They had a to go breakfast and Coffee and Juice to get you out the door in the morning. We enjoyed our stay, we went skiing for 3 days and it was the perfect place. Walking Distance to some restaurants, a park/playground. My daughter left her beloved stuffed animal and they texted us about it and send it back to us, which was so wonderful!
Salida is a delightful town. We loved Currents Restaurant and Riveting Experience Jewelry - we got to design and make our own jewelry pieces... great experience for a group. Love the walk around the river and delightful shops downtown.
I absolutely love spending time in Salida, CO. It is a great stay when I am traveling home from Denver to Mancos. Love the restaurants, especially The Boathouse. Right on the river and excellent food and mixed drinks. Downtown parking is a challenge sometimes as they have part of the main street blocked off for outside dining.
Salida was a great little town, centrally located to several sites including Great Sand Dunes, Arkansas Headwaters, Browns Canyon, and many others. Plus the river access in town was great. The food scene was a great surprised, there are some great spots for eating and drinking.
A very clean motel, friendly staff. Motel was in a good locations so traveling to other events was very easy. Lots of parking, mainly next to our room made it very easy to load/unload. Recommend Amicas for great pizza and the Boat Barn for good food and great views of river activities.
Great location, 1mile from the town centre and only 1h30mins drive from the Great Sand Dunes National Park. The rooms look like they’ve been recently remodelled and are very clean. The hotel follows all Covid19 state guidelines. Nice hot tub (you book your time slots with the reception to prevent interactions with other guests). Staff is nice. ‘Grab and go’ breakfast- no hot meals but pastries and coffee available every morning.
Salida
This is an absolutely beautiful property. Gorgeously decorated, extremely comfortable furnishings, very spacious. 180 degree views of valley, mountains and sky. Very secluded and private and QUIET. We prepared all our own meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. Easy to find. Just a really lovely home. The pictures online don't even do this place justice! It's the best place I've ever stayed in Salida.
Our room was spotless! The property doesn't look like anything special on the outside; however, it was very comfortable and clean (and I'm pretty picky)! Salida is a wonderful spot for a summer adventure. Hotel is close to everything, but a car is helpful to get you closer to downtown.
The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The room was very clean and very quiet. Overall excellent stay I will stay at this property next time I go to Salida.
We stayed at a Spinghill Suites at a better rate and with a better breakfast. It comes across as a cheap, cut expenses any way you can effort.
