It is a fun place to walk around old town. There were a lot of bicyclists riding that area. There is a wide shoulder on the road in both directions, with beautiful scenery. I can't wait to come back and ride on Motorcycle!
Salida is a vibrant little town and becoming more so all the time. Funky, unique little shops, restaurants, brew pubs, galleries. The little riverfront is great - pretty little park and shops/restaurants overlooking the water. Nearby area -- beautiful mountain and valley areas to hike, bike, fish, explore. In winter, it's a great place to stay when you ski Monarch, about 40 minute drive away. Have to give a shout out to Moonlight Pizza and Brew Pub, our family favorite for years.
One of the friendliest, most laid-back towns I've ever visited! Beautiful vintage homes, dog friendly, great places to eat and a lovely river walk. There were lots of choices of places to stay (and dogs allowed) and affordability. We loved Salida!
We love Salida and go there often. There is every kind of outdoor adventure you can think of. There are also a wide variety of restaurants for every budget and every palate. We'll be going back soon!
It’s an authentic old style Colorado mountain town on the shores of the beautiful Arkansas River. Plenty of outdoor recreation (kayaking, biking, hiking, nearby skiing, fishing, golfing) and lots of great live music and fun art galleries next to health food restaurants and local taverns. The amphitheater in old Riverside Park is awesome!
Charming town surrounded by breathtaking views. Weather was cool and mercurial for May so an extra layer/ rain gear is recommended. Drive up to S Mountain with your companions. The Boat House may mix up your order but the location makes it worth it. Would love to see a little more gluten free / vegan options but not every place is like Portland.

When we drove up, we met one of the owners who was taking care of the geraniums in front of the hotel. It was immediately clear – and our subsequent impressions confirmed this – that the owners take personal, attentive, and loving care of the property, which they keep meticulously clean. The location is a quick, 5-minute drive from the art galleries and restaurants of Salida. The value for money is excellent. The continental breakfast was basic but decent. Next time we're in Salida, we will return to this hotel!

The room was nicely decorated/remodeled. Everything was clean and modern and worked perfectly. Included a fridge and microwave (also new-looking). Beds were very comfortable, with a wide selection of pillows. It was a reasonably long, but very pleasant walk to downtown Salida where deer hang out in people's front yards.

the room was large and the beds were comfortable. The stafff was pleasant and the check in process was fast and easy. It is a fone pass through hotel, although a Super 8 or Motel 6 provides the same or better quality at a little less of a cost in most places.

This was the first time I've ever walked into a room and actually smelled how clean it was. The room was clean and comfy. It was nicer and cleaner than some high priced hotels we have stayed in.
