Charming town surrounded by breathtaking views. Weather was cool and mercurial for May so an extra layer/ rain gear is recommended. Drive up to S Mountain with your companions. The Boat House may mix up your order but the location makes it worth it. Would love to see a little more gluten free / vegan options but not every place is like Portland.
Great little town with great places to eat, two great coffee shops. I go there for mountain biking, tons of trails to ride, couple of great bike shops. I really recommend Absolute Bikes, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Salida downtown is beautiful. Spent the day walking up and down F street, aka Fun Street to locals. Spent time at Moonlight Pizza, their ginger beer is tasty as well as their pizza! Homemade crust makes huge difference in flavor! Shopped the stores along F street and stopped for breakfast the next day at the happy pancake house. Very relaxing and peaceful town. Definitely coming back.
Charming town with old downtown. Close to Monarch Ski Resort. Prices are lower than normal for a ski town, and it hasn't been ruined yet by the jet-set, like the big ski resorts and towns off I-70.
Salida has a great older downtown, with great food and lovely old buildings. The downtown is not just for tourists but locals shop here too. There are some great shops and restaurants...lots of great food and places to drink.
Such a cute town with great consignment shops (my favorite) and really good food at Moonlight Pizza and Brewpub and at the Firefly (fantastic!). The hot springs are nice and the town hosted a really fun parade of lights where we experienced some of the community spirit. I would spend more time there for sure!

When we drove up, we met one of the owners who was taking care of the geraniums in front of the hotel. It was immediately clear – and our subsequent impressions confirmed this – that the owners take personal, attentive, and loving care of the property, which they keep meticulously clean. The location is a quick, 5-minute drive from the art galleries and restaurants of Salida. The value for money is excellent. The continental breakfast was basic but decent. Next time we're in Salida, we will return to this hotel!

the room was large and the beds were comfortable. The stafff was pleasant and the check in process was fast and easy. It is a fone pass through hotel, although a Super 8 or Motel 6 provides the same or better quality at a little less of a cost in most places.
