Located in Salida, 17 miles from Monarch, Amigo Motor Lodge has accommodations with free WiFi and free private parking. I loved the aesthetic! The room was designed very simple but very cute! I loved the hot tub area- it was so fun at night to see the stars and sit out there! I also loved how they had their complimentary soaps/shampoos/lotions/etc. set up in the room- it seems so much more sustainable than what they typically use at hotels!

Salida is a small town but well set up for tourist looking for outside activities such as biking, kayaking, fishing, etc. They have bike rental shops, rafting tour companies, hot springs, hiking trails, and fun shops and restaurants.
Salida is a cute town full of historical elements. It is a great place to lay back and have a peaceful and relaxing vacation. It is small but big enough to get away from the city life. There is much to do here, as it is the heart of the rockies! Salida is a great place to go.
Salida is a great mountain town that is dog and skater friendly and has a thriving art scene and modern downtown district. Also, located near so many great mountain attractions: Monarch Pass, Mount Princeton Hot Springs, golf, numerous hikes and biking trails, and of course the best, Great Sand Dunes! I would recommend a stay here to anyone! (Try to stay a week because a long weekend just isn't enough.)
Its a quaint, small Hotel with a nice room. We were travelling with our dog and that was accepted, maybe for that we got a larger room at the side which was prefect. They had a to go breakfast and Coffee and Juice to get you out the door in the morning. We enjoyed our stay, we went skiing for 3 days and it was the perfect place. Walking Distance to some restaurants, a park/playground. My daughter left her beloved stuffed animal and they texted us about it and send it back to us, which was so wonderful!
Salida is a delightful town. We loved Currents Restaurant and Riveting Experience Jewelry - we got to design and make our own jewelry pieces... great experience for a group. Love the walk around the river and delightful shops downtown.
I absolutely love spending time in Salida, CO. It is a great stay when I am traveling home from Denver to Mancos. Love the restaurants, especially The Boathouse. Right on the river and excellent food and mixed drinks. Downtown parking is a challenge sometimes as they have part of the main street blocked off for outside dining.
This is an absolutely beautiful property. Gorgeously decorated, extremely comfortable furnishings, very spacious. 180 degree views of valley, mountains and sky. Very secluded and private and QUIET. We prepared all our own meals and the kitchen had everything we needed. Easy to find. Just a really lovely home. The pictures online don't even do this place justice! It's the best place I've ever stayed in Salida.

The whole design concept was great. The retro feel worked, and the little red mini fridge was cute as a button. The bed was great, there was a hairdryer, and toiletries, and the shower was wonderful. towels were plush. Nice place. The check in gal sent me to a great place for dinner and I really loved that recommendation. I will stay here again when I return to Salida!
If I could give the Loyal Duke Lodge 20 out of 10 stars, I would! If you are traveling with a pet and need a clean space with comfortable beds and a nice hot shower, this should be your choice 100%! The staff were excellent, warm, and friendly. The breakfast was awesome and the endless coffee...amazing! We will be staying here again anytime we come through Salida!
Right on the main highway, easy to find. Close to good restaurants. Only a mile from historic downtown Salida and the picturesque River Walk. Very clean hotel. Our room was spacious and spotless. The staff is excellent: very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Ample free parking. Very good wifi internet.
Salida
We were pleasantly surprised how modern the room and bathroom were. Free wifi is always nice. Bonus that it's pet friendly. Hot breakfast was also good enough. Though we would prefer to be walking distance to town, the drive was not bad.
The old-school motel we all grew up visiting. I’d rather stay here than the modern cold sterile hotels out there. Rooms with a theme are genius.
Its pretty central and 30 minutes away from Salida, decent size bathrooms and big rooms with lots of TV channels. Wifi was intermittent
This was by far the best stay I've had in a super long time! Will definitely be staying here every time I come through Salida.
