Hotel Californian, Santa Barbara Inn, and Harbor View Inn got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Santa Barbara.
Santa Barbara has beautiful flowers and excellent East beach was my preference. Restrooms there are clean. Montecito was charming and the drive there where the movie stars live was lovely but you can only see the trees, not the homes, as they are on acreage and very private. I enjoyed very much a French Bakery called Alessia. The parking everywhere was extremely difficult and State Street was blocked off from traffic for TWELVE BLOCKS. Other streets were also blocked. Lot of walking necessary. Stearns Wharf was interesting but not for disabled people. Very bumpy one ancient wood. There is free parking to drive on the pier and return (highly recommended). Most of the cafes had outdoor dining. Jeanine's Bakery had very long lines and little parking. My favorite place was East Beach. There is a restaurant there at Cabrillo Place but it is very expensive. Santa Barbara has become very expensive for the average person.
History, art, culture, beach and good food. What's not to love? You can do as much or as little as you like; explore or just relax. It's an ideal destination for singles, couples or families alike. In Santa Barbara there's something to please everyone! The MOXI is an absolute treat for children. Montecito is a treat for adults...Jeannine's for breakfast is not to be missed. Visits to the Mission, Courthouse, Presidio, Funk Zone and, of course, the beaches are recommended. If you like fishing then Stearns Wharf is a place to drop a line and enjoy the views. Funk Zone offers lots of cafes, restaurant and bar options. We particularly enjoyed breakfast at the Helena Avenue Bakery and dinner at Bluewater Grill with both vegetarian, seafood and meat options available.
Santa Barbara was lovely, unfortunately we were only there for 2 nights as we were travelling along the pacific coast highway & stopping off at many places along the way. Lots of great places to eat & drink & I particularly recommend the McConnell's ice cream! Everywhere we went was walking distance from our hotel which was in a great location near the beach. It was the Motel 6 Classic which was done very retro & funky - very nice! Would definitely recommend!
The most beautiful city in America! Beautifully Landscaped , lovely mediterranean architecture , great restaurants, nice beaches and pleasant weather. The quaintest airport! Loved every minute of our stay.
I was visiting family because of a serious illness of a family member. This was not a pleasure trip. That said, I have been visiting Santa Barbara every few years or so since 1951. I am well acquainted with the town and have my favorite spots to revisit.
Santa Barbara was great! Two favorites: Santa Barbara Botanic Garden and the Breakwater at the Harbor. We could easily have spent every day at the Botanic Garden. The Garden features native California flowers and trees (including Redwoods), and is beautifully maintained. Knowledgeable guides are available. Walking on the breakwater is always fascinating, with different scenes every time. Sailboats, shore birds, a rowing team in training, a pelican colony, fog and bright sunshine, islands in the distance, sunrises and sunsets...and at the street side of the harbor, trees full of Snowy Egrets and Night Herons.
Harbor View Inn was one of the most beautiful hotel stops on our California tour. The room we has was HUGE and incredibly comfortable for our 2 night stay. Location was spot on - we were located in the North building which led straight out onto Mason, a stones throw away from the beach and only a 10-15 min stroll to the downtown area (even closer to the Funk Zone and wine bars!) Nice little balcony on our 2nd floor room too! Perfect for enjoying an ice-cream from McConnells (just across the street) and a glass of something sparkling!
~ Beautiful and historic rooms in keeping with the house. ~ stunning gardens surrounding the property ~ Breakfast was fantastic - a 3 course meal with the main meal something different each day, cooked perfectly alongside fantastic service! ~ Lovely warm scones and cookies served in the afternoon and evening. ~ Complete with fantastic hour d’oeuvres served early evening which varied each day and all delicious ~ turn down service each night ~ relaxing place, quiet and peaceful ~ one of the best hotels in California!!
Santa Barbara
Although the room is a little bit old, the bedroom and pillows were comfortable. The room is spacious, and there is a coffee machine, a small refrigerator and a microwave which were very helpful. There is a very good supermarket just across the street. The hotel is 10/15minuts by car to the main touristic points of Santa Bárbara. It was a good cost benefitfor us that spent the hole day out and needed a place just for the night to rest.
Exceeded expectations. Great price/value. The 10 minute walk to Funk Zone/State Street/Harbor was perfect. Very modern style hotel and rooms with perfect amount of Santa Barbara design mixed in. Free covered parking. Staff was very friendly and gave us a bottle of wine for my wife's birthday. Boutique 4 star quality at 2-3 star price.
Montecito, Santa Barbara
Fantastic hotel.Family room very spacious and comfy.Great location for one night with a few places to eat.We took the bikes and cycled into santa barbara and back- this was about 5m each way and a couple of hills with no gears but was beautiful! Great value and highly recommended!
We had probably the best room in the inn, 2nd floor facing south with sea view. Spacious room. Great personel giving advice what to do do in Santa Barbara The location, 2 min walk from the beautiful East Beach Nice pool. Free parking at the street. Breakfast included!
I’ve been to Santa Barbara multiple times but this was my first time staying at this hotel, very happy I chose it! The location is great, staff was super nice and helpful! the building is very beautiful itself, reception and breakfast area look so nice and cozy.
She was the sweetest never got her name but she has curly short hair very kind to my noisy children hotels were clean they accommodated us very well and whenever we needed something they were quick to help thanks for the best experience in Santa Barbara
Perfect hotel for our visit to Santa Barbara. Right on the beach and within easy walking distance to loads of food and drink places, especially the funk zone. We loved chilling out by the fire pits in the evenings. The rooms and decor are just lovely!
Huge room size with view of the ocean. Beach was located right across the street, but the hotel was a little far from the main downtown area. The only option to park your car is with the hotel's paid valet. Nice amenities (pool, gym, bocce court).
We had the two room suite which was very reasonable in price, and was great for a relaxing getaway. Location is good for walking around Santa Barbara including the wharf and downtown areas. Good restaurants nearby too.
The motel was a quick drive to the vibrant downtown area of Santa Barbara. The hotel was exactly what we needed, and affordable and comfortable space to stay over night.
The staff were super friendly and helpful. The hotel room was clean. Decent location, fairly close to UCSB and downtown Santa Barbara.
