Tacopa is more of an area to rest and relax to get to Death Valley area. It does have the most fantastic restaurant (Steak and Beer) about a mile up the road. One of the best high end meals I have had in my life (in the middle of the desert!) Sunrise and sky viewing are awesome.

1- the place could not be legally reached because all roads from Death Valley were closed and flooded. I repeatedly asked for directions from Death Valley. I received nothing just canned answers. When we reached Tecopa all roads were closed. we were forced to wade a river. 2- Paid for two nights in a cabin and was given a dirty, filthy, outdated "motel room". It was a room in a shared trailer. When I asked to be moved to the cabin I reserved, the staff asked for more money. I was willing to pay, but they were unable to complete the transaction because of their incompetence. We decided to leave after 1 day. They told us we would get no refund.
