Williamsport is an interesting city. It has a variety of places to visit and diverse in its population. The National Historic Registry has many mansions noted in Williamsport and they are as lovely as you could imagine. Each one is more grand that the previous! The city sits along the Susquehanna River and the views are breathtaking. There is significant nightlife, bars and restaurants that are equally enjoyable. There are a number of one way streets, so be prepared to drive around the city a few times to get the layout and familiarize yourself with getting from point A to B. There are quite a number of churches and houses of worship, if you are staying over the weekend. They are both friendly and welcoming to visitors. There are also many parks. I went to one in the city that had a special dog walking area. There are other attractions of interest to some such as the Little League Museum, but I was not interested in that. Definitely a must for a trip to Pennsylvania!
I was charmed by this town on the Susquehanna River, and I would have liked to stay longer and explore it a little more. There was a really pretty little square near the Genetti Hotel, with several restaurants. I had one of the best hamburgers ever at The Brickyard, and for dessert I enjoyed delicious ice cream from Sprinkled Sweet. A sign said another restaurant would be reopening on that square soon, too. The architecture in downtown Williamsport is beautiful -- I'm a fan of Victorian buildings -- and the setting is magnificent, with tall, green hills all around the town. I was very impressed by Williamsport!
Williamsport is an easy to navigate historic town in north central PA. Restaurants are top-notch, and there's a wonderful independent bookstore in town. During the warm months, you can take a riverboat cruise on the Susquehanna, and there's hiking, fishing, camping nearby. During August, the town hosts the Little League World Series.
The Hotel was very dated but they are working on updates. I went for the continental breakfast and I was stopped and told that I can not take my free breakfast to my room. This was very inconvenient, and not very happy about his. Over all the rooms was very nice and clean and very roomy. The staff was very friendly and very helpful with everything. I would recommend this Hotel for a short visit.
Wonderful historic hotel with some good restaurants nearby. NOT "cookie cutter"Wonderful, full, hot breakfast. Surprisingly, the restaurant is almost dead in the eve with only men it seems drinking at the bar. I wish more effort would be put into that space in the evenings. It was chilly and I did not always feel like leaving the hotel in the eve . I was there for work and, the one evening I did stay in to eat, I was literally the only female in the restaurant, except for bartender. All working men otherwise , which is fine, but where were the rest of the guests? Very few of them were eating, mostly drinking at bar
Williamsport has really upped its game. There are some good restaurants and cool venues. A pet friendly town with a great dog (and people) park. The Bullfrog Brewery is a great spot for beer drinkers. The Sawhorse has the best breakfast sandwich anywhere. Get it with spinach and start your day right! Their lattes and teas are the best we’ve had, and we just came from Seattle!
This was a huge help for us! After 4 weeks of all of us sharing the same hotel room (home renovations) with no place to sit and eat, TownePlace Suites was wonderful. We're grateful for the separate sleeping quarters, an actual table for meals, and an area to just relax. The staff was very helpful. It was also a huge blessing to be able to have our dog with us instead of in a kennel.
Hotel was booked solid but they were prepared. No wait at check in. Parking was full but they had a secondary lot that was easy enough. Free breakfast included a sit-down meal which was completely unexpected but nice! The room was right by elevator and ice machine but I guess we were lucky enough to have quiet considerate neighbors in our floor.
Great place for a weekend stay. No weird smells. Pay for what you get. Good sized rooms, beds were cleaned. Walls are a little thin so you can here you’re neighbors but nothing the hotel can do. Can’t complain would stay again.
Was very pleased with how clean the entire hotel was! The rooms have been recently renovated and was nice and roomy! For the rate, if I was ever back in the area, I would definitely choose this hotel again!!
Location from work was great! Rooms were clean, hotel staff was very friendly and helpful! They offered breakfast early which was wonderful because I had to be to work early!
The room was clean and personal friendly. I liked the furnishing of the room. The hotel is in a good location of the city.
Front desk staff was very friendly, hotel rooms were clean and pool was very clean!
Very nice old hotel!
