This is the only town in Savaii and has the ferry wharf, so we travelled through it twice, on arrival and departure back to Upola. It's a functional port town and not great for tourists as the beaches are away up the coast. Basic shops and a couple of fast food style outlets. The restaurant at Lusia's Lagoon where we stayed was one of two better places to eat. We stayed just one night at the end of our cycling tour of the island, before catching the ferry the next morning. I would recommend other tourists to stay out of the town, as there's much nicer accommodation further up the coast in Lano and Manase, so if you have a car it's a quick drive to the port. We were cycling so it was easier to stay in town, but I wish we hadn't as it isn't interesting and there are no beaches to swim from.
