Four guest suites all very spacious with view over the ocean. Excellent Wifi and honour bar. The weather was not kind we watched one of the most ferocious storms in recent memory from the house!!! Strongly recommend this facility for a visit to the beautiful part of the Cape Coast!!

South AfricaWow! What an unexpected delight! We had just completed an exceptionally hard trail run in Hout Bay and it was like being welcomed home. Halbert had just made fresh biscuits - they were still hot. He made the most divine cappuccino. He was so helpful with the luggage and explained everything so simply. The view was stunning. The decor very French and just incredible. Even the lap dogs were just the best. Loved every minute - but it was definitely way too short only staying one night. We will have to come back!

It's a quaint little, artist town with such a relaxed vibe...
It's a quaint little, artist town with such a relaxed vibe with so much history. The view of the ocean and the mountains around make the town even more attractive. The little shopping centers near by to the beach / hotels & main roads also help make the holiday an easy one. It's about 45 minutes to an hour from Cape Town city centre and the towns near there so if you are looking for a place that is young and vibey, this is not it. This town is more suitable for families and couples looking to get away and reconnect. There are also lovely restaurants in the town to suit each travelers pocket.

Simon's Town offers the perfect balance of history, nature, cuisine and beaches. It is out of the hustle and bustle of the city and towns like Kalk Bay, but still close to everything. The views across the bay are always a highlight. Visit the penguins, learn about Just Nuisance, explore the various museums, immerse yourself in naval history (yes Lord Horatio Nelson visited here!) and enjoy the beaches. A drive from here to Cape Point is probably one of the most beautiful coastal routes in the world. Lovers of Victorian architecture will also enjoy the town.

We used Simonstown as our hub to travel around the Deep South on motorcycles. A number of great tourist attractions are in and around Simonstown. We visited the Johanna van der Merwe Submarine museum, which was excellent, the only submarine museum in Africa. Then the Boulders and the Africa penquins, the 'Just nuisance' story, Cape Point Nature reserve with the funicular going up to the lighthouse, Chapmans Peak, and not to forget the restaurants. We also enjoyed the nice roads and views on the motorcycles.

All about penguins.
All about penguins. Definitely check out the paid option from Sanparks, but do not skip the public boardwalk and beaches. There are plenty of penguins and hyraxes there too, less crowded and open for sunrise and sunsets. For photographers, one could get down low on the beach, something not possible at the Sanparks boardwalks. The drive to Simonstad is a bit tedious. since you have to go through the heavy traffic of the other towns en route. After 5 pm, Simonstad is empty and plenty of place to park for your dining. Also a very nice venture point for tours around the area, like Cape Point or Chapman's Peak.

The Submarine Museum is a must.
The Submarine Museum is a must. A lot of effort went into creating it and through volunteers and donations, it has thrived. The tour of the interior of the S99 - SAS ASSEGAI ex SAS Johanna van der Merwe is a must and the tour guides are both humorous and knowledgeable.
Also on the approach to Simonstown is a slightly hidden but very interesting SA Naval Museum.
There are about 6 places to eat out in Simonstown depending on your budget and if you are willing to wait at a few of them, you will have plenty of time to enjoy a good wine. Be aware that some of them shut early around 21h00.
It is also a penguin lovers delight at Boulders, just a few hundred yards as you exit Simonstown to the east on the Cape Point road. A few companies running fishing and shark cage experiences from the jetty at the Quaside Hotel.
A lovely little town.

We visited the last weekend of the festive holiday, and the...
We visited the last weekend of the festive holiday, and the traffic was horrendous. All the way from Muizenberg to Simonstown was one long traffic jam. Access to Boulders Beach and the Penguins was closed, presumably due to the sheer volume of visitors.
The people of Simonstown were friendly and kind, from street vendors to shop assistants and waiters. I look forward to visiting again at a quiter time of the year.

The most superb stay in all of Africa. William and all the team are truly extraordinary. The warmth of the room, privacy and comfort only surpassed by the most magnificent view of the Bays, southern right whales migrating and breathless view of the cape coastline. The quality of food and especially the care with which it was presented and served is beyond 5 stars. This is by far the best stay and value for money along the whole coast. We will be back without any hesitation.
