Located 1.2 mi from Boulders Penguin Colony in Simon’s Town, Penguin Palace features accommodations with terraces overlooking the False Bay Ocean. Free WiFi is available. Very very special place, the coziest place we've ever been at, so lovely decorated. We stayed only for 2 nights, wish it was longer, 100/10. Thank you for your hospitality!
Located above historical Simon's Town with extensive views along False Bay, this guest house offers elegantly decorated rooms with balconies and free Wi-Fi. It features a indoor, solar-heated pool. Amazing views in a quiet location with adorable staff .Great price!
Located at Boulders Beach with its famous penguin colony, Boulders Beach Hotel, Cafe and Curio shop offers rooms with attached bathroom, just 1.2 mi outside of Simon’s Town. Everything was really nice, definitely need to revisit, this time for a longer stay😊 The staff were very friendly and helpful and extremely sweet, very accommodating. We literally felt like home. The venue is perfect, loved my stay.
The refurbished Sail Away Studios offer spacious self-catering accommodations located in Simon’s Town. Free WiFi access is available. Boulders Beach is a 2-minute drive away. Love the apartment and it’s location. It’s bright, modern and benefits from 180 Degrees windows over the Boulders Beach. It’s in a safe and quiet location. Bed is super comfy and the fixtures and fittings modern and tasteful. Great value for money.
Located in the safest area of Simon’s Town, Penguinden offers stunning views of the magic False Bay and Boulders Beach is within walking distance. The views are absolutely incredible! I am so glad we stayed in Simon's Town rather than busy Cape Town. The place is nicely decorated and they provide helpful paperwork (map, recommended restaurants). Do take note that you have to arrive before 10pm though.
we had excellent, well priced seafood at Fran's in Jubilee Square, Look out for Queen Victoria's Fountain. (Food just as reasonable and nicer than takeaways) We explored delightful must see small beaches, both with tidal pools: Seaforth and Water'a Edge (Parking for both bottom of Seaforth Road). Look out for Noah's ark rock. Treasure Trove Charity Shop was such fun, Good quality preloved goods and the friendliest, kindest assistants. Harbour View Mall was great, bottom of Disa Valley Road, Checkers, Woolworths & Clicks. Drive to Millar's Point and walk to the secluded Tidal Pool not far, just a little more driving past Smitswinkel Bay, you will head north again and arrive at the rustic Scone Shack!!
Simons Town is a quaint seaside village with a twist. The active naval base makes for an interesting history. Wonderful place to visit and explore, should be done by foot though and not in a car, lots of hidden nooks and crannies to wander about and discover something different. The locals are very friendly and you're greeted with a courteous good morning as they run/walk/cycle by. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for that traditional village feel, with a bit of modern convenience thrown in.
Magnificent little gem on the coast. Superb restaurants, history, beaches, ice creams.... look for the penguins walking around, even at night. Eat at the restaurant right on the beach. The fish and chips is sensational. Very easy to get around for a lovely drive down the coast.
Simon's Town is the Mecca of dicing in Cape Town, the ease of access to all the dive sites is amazing, it is mostly sheltered so dive days are many though water can be choppy, stunning spots for watching the sunrise, picnics at sunset and most places you can walk to!
Due to Covid-19 not all the museums were open. We visited the Toy museum, for children and collectors of trains, "Dinky Toy" cars it will be very enjoyable, it is quite a collection. Boulders Beach is a must see and a visit to the Cape of God Hope National Park is worth the ride along the beautiful coastline, It is 26km from Simonstown. You can spend a whole day in the park.
There is not an enormous amount to do, but if you are looking for a peaceful, chilled out rest, it is the perfect place to be. Close enough to nik nak shops in Kalk Bay, had a lovely breakfast at Dixie's and the best back massage at the Tranquility Spa Simon's Town Main Road.

This is an fantastic apartment. Very cozy and spacius. The view is absolutely amazing. All is close - from Cape Town to Cape Horn. But mostly we went to Simons Town.. Even thoug its a small town it has a lot to offer.
Amanda, the owner, went out of her way to make our son and new daughter-in-law's wedding day extra special and most memorable! The rooms were beautifully furnished and the breakfasts delicious!
The view was out of this world. Our room was amazing. Homely feel. Gillian went out of her way for us
