Such a convenient stop off on the road to Joburg from CT. Close to the N1 but far enough to be quiet. We were considerably delayed due to a problem with our trailer and Kate, Marina and Paulina ensured that we had a tasty meal ready as well as breakfast for an early departure. Super comfy bed and a tranquil environment.

Without asking we were provided with a good supply of wood, fire starters and matches to have a great braai. The communal kitchen has everything you need at home.

Definitely a hidden gem that I will use again when having to travel on the N1. Easy access from N1 and a peaceful and quiet little town. Will definitely book dinner and breakfast. My furry friends were very happy with the safe environment. Well priced.

It is a lovely working farm. Lovely stay.

It is a lovely working farm. Lovely stay. Great place for city children to experience farm life. The internet is intermittent & there is only cellphone signal at a certain part of the farm, up on a small hill. This would be difficult for elderly or physically unfit guests to get to.

Garingboom has no airs or graces.

Garingboom has no airs or graces. It’s a very comfy farm cottage in the middle of the Karoo which makes it a very ideal overnight ( or longer) stay. If one is looking for modern or fancy then perhaps this is not for you. The hosts Jan and Riette make one very welcome and made sure we had everything we wanted. When you’ve been on the road for hours it feels like an absolute oasis!
