A small clean cottage, easy to access. The area very peaceful and tranquil, For the colder nights would like to have found extra blankets in the cupboard. Don't forget to get firewood on your way for the cold nights. Enjoyed the weekend
We have been visiting the area for years. It really is beautiful. The village itself could do with a bit of an upgrade and the roads aren't the greatest. The people who live and work in the area are lovely though. It is nice to see there is a bit of development going on and we know there are residents who are working at improving the roads and sidewalks. We have stayed in and around Underberg and Himeville many times and will continue to do so. It really is a beautiful part of KZN
Beautiful place , right location. Pinky was very helpful. The room was always clean. Please provide wardrobes as that place is near the wedding venue so we didn't have a place to hang our suits.
The area around the town of Underberg is extremely scenic with lots of fun and outdoorsy activities to do. I would definitely recommend spending some time in the area, since the hikes take some time but are certainly worth it, although I would say that you should be moderately fit to enjoy it to the fullest. The hikes that we did started at the Drakensberg Ukhahlamba Park World Heritage Site where you have to pay R50 per person for a permit. it was totally worth it, since the views were spectacular and the cave with the faded Bushman paintings that we saw was well worth the somewhat challenging trail (for some rather unfit people). The lady at the Silverstreams trading store was super nice and friendly and advised us on some things that we should do and see. one of her suggestions was the Himeville museum, which was an incredible and extremely interesting experience that I would greatly recommend. It covered everything from the history of the area, to the animals and birds that inhabit the area along with displays of their droppings and other interesting tidbits. Very educational. Outside the museum we followed our noses to the coffee shop across the street, The Stonehouse Kitchen which had the best hot chocolate and their food also looked excellent, although we did not eat there. The area is easy to navigate, although the roads in some parts are terribly deteriorated and have lots of potholes, so you will have to drive very carefully. I would just avoid going Underberg (the town) during month-end, since it was completely chaotic, although it might just look like that all that time, I'm not sure.
It's a beautiful little town with so much character and charm. The views are breathtaking and indescribable. Got to see it for yourself to appreciate its beauty. Many options of places to visit and the drives are calming. Our stay at J&B Lodge was perfect and provided everything a self catering stay would require. The amazing hosts were definitely an added bonus.
Amazing views from a beautiful deck. Extremely private. Brand new with all the mod cons. Cosy with double glazing stunning verandah with Weber. Both rooms en-suite. Farm to take walks or just chill and soak up the picturesque mountains. You cannot go wrong with this 5 star accommodation at the perfect price. We wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely host. Not far from Underberg to get supplies. We will most definitely be back.
We got upgraded from a B&B reservation to Self Catering Accommodation with no price changes due to availability. The staff are friendly and helpful. The location is perfect if you want to tour Sani Pass which is +/-20 minutes away. The property has a huge garden for guests to stroll and soak up the sun. We stayed in winter when nights reached below zero temperatures, but felt so comfortable due to the electric bed warmers.
Our hosts were the stars of the show. Lovely genuine people. Exactly the amount of chit chat and perfect amount of privacy. The facilities are great. Comfortable bed. Good internet, Netflix and dstv. And a fire place that warms up the whole house. I loved wooden deck. My first choice when I’m back in Underberg
Birches Cottage was amazing. There was not a single thing out of place. They give you all the information and the owners are probably the coolest people you’ll ever meet. They also own a local coffee Shop in Underberg called The Lemon Tree. Had breakfast there and it was so good! Highly recommend.

Great location just outside of Underberg. Rooms were spacious with comfortable beds, and the breakfast each morning was also great. Bonus is also the on site restaurant, so you don't have to travel far for an evening dinner.
An absolute gem in the Underberg. Views are incredible, owners and staff go out their way to make one feel right at home. Definitely make this stay again when coming to the Underberg.
Being a self catering venue, the location is ideally located close to Supermarkets, service stations, etc to ensure that all required supplies could be sought
It is not a hotel. But it is good value for money if you want good clean and comfortable cabin accommodation. I will return with friends.
Amazing views, fireplace, the house facilities like the kitchen and the close vicinity to underberg.
Peacuful, scenic spot in the heart of Underberg. Definitely would recommend for families
