The room is very spacious and charming with elegant antique furnitures, great atmosphere! The dinner was amazing! Great food and wine, they were very kind to serve us with another pre-drink of port, lots of great red wine during the dinner and with a 40years port after dinner. Breakfast is also nice and fresh! We also enjoyed the wineyard at the bottom of the hotel and that we were allowed to walk around at any time. The place is very calm and quiet, perfect for a escape from the city hustle and bustle. Mr Jose was also of extreme kindness setting us up with a lovely boat tour through Douro on my bday. We had just asked where we could arrange for the tour and he went all the way calling the person and helping us organize. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was really attentive. We highly recommend a stay with them!

It was simply beautiful, we had the pool view room though I have to say the pool, though lovely, was the last thing your eyes feasted on, the views over the mountains and vineyards being exceptional. Pulling the window blinds up in the room took your breath away. Spotlessly clean, fresh and airy. Maria was amazing, very knowledgeable and freely giving of the interesting family history and arranged restaurants and taxis for us which was most helpful. We obviously had to sample the wine and port, again very good, the White Reserva being most excellent, so much so we had to buy some to take home to add to our collection (if it gets there!). The small but perfectly pared nibbles with the wine and port were very naughty but nice. We would definitely stay again and would certainly fully recommend anyone to visit as a must do, great place for all the great Douro river and port wine activities in a peaceful environment. The village is great too. Highly recommended. Thank you.
