Located in Avarua, a 9-minute walk from Avarua Beach, Sands of Rarotonga Hotel has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. The place is perfect for exploring the local culture. It’s close to the museum, library, church, and there are several restaurants nearby, as well as the Saturday market. You don’t need a car because the bus stop is just a few minutes away. The best part, of course, was the amazing staff who truly cared about me during my stay and pick me up from the airport and a different accommodation. I stayed twice at this small hotel. The pool is great, and breakfast at The Trout was fantastic. If you are picky with cleaning, this is your place 😉

Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodations located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides. Breakfast had too much fruit blends. Orange or pineapple would have been better. Location brilliant 👏.

Muri Beach Hideway offers a tropical island escape, with a variety of self-contained accommodations options. Place which makes you feel rich The best place on Raratonga. It’s located in Muri, just in front of most famous and the most beautiful lagoon of whole island. In Muri there’s night market 4 times a week so if you want to try local food not for “tourist price” that’s the easiest place to go. Market is located 5 minutes on foot from hotel so you don’t have to wait for bus or rent a car just to eat dinner. Two houses away are lagoon cruises departing points so we got every morning a bit of live music for free. Also, around 10 min on foot there’s Te Vara Nui - “island night” entertainment, the only one with stage on water. Beaches on Raro are public but the land in front of them is not so access to beach is a bit tricky if you don’t have accommodation with direct access. This hotel has desk overlooking lagoon and stairs to beach so from your bed you have like 1 minute to beach :) Hotel itself is tiny but that’s its great advantage. It is very private - 5 bungalows for max 2 people, with “only adults” rule and pool just next to beach it makes you feel like you are in place for billionaires, when you actually didn’t have spend that much. Bungalows have huge verandas with chairs and table, where you can have breakfast enjoying ocean or mountain view. Rooms are very spacious, high ceiling with underside of roof open, fan (you really need it to sleep), big comfy bed, love seats just amazing - so comfy I could sleep in them. There’s bathroom on one side and kitchenette on the other, behind bed. There’s everything you need in kitchen if you decide to cook - even mixer to make smoothies from fresh local fruits. I have read in description of the place there would a welcome local fruit if available and I thought it just for show, when actually we got a bowl of local bananas (banana tree was just next to our veranda) and limes. Room is equipped with everything you might need - there’s chair pillows for chairs on veranda and on desk in front of beach.

I had a fantastic time at Ocean Escape Resort & Spa in the Cook Islands. Owners Jade and Barry have created an amazing boutique resort with exceptional attention to detail. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the well-stocked fridge, mezzanine bedroom, huge shower, utilities, small dishwasher, mood lighting and the beautiful pool. One of the standout features is BJ's bar, built smartly on stilts so as not to obstruct the stunning beach views from the poolside comforts. This place is a real secret treat, with amazing food and cocktails and lovely friendly staff. As a solo traveler, I felt very much looked out for, thanks to the excellent communication before and during my stay. Manager Elaine seamlessly set me up on activities and adventures all week, ensuring I had a memorable experience. Above all, it was the kind-hearted people involved who obviously love what they do that made my stay exceptional and comfortable. The eco-friendly design of the resort is impressive, ensuring minimal environmental impact while providing all modern comforts. The villas are spacious, beautifully decorated with a fresh coastal feel, and equipped with luxurious amenities. The staff, led by Elaine, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their attention to detail and personalized service made me feel truly pampered. Whether it was enjoying a local beer by the poolside BBQ or relaxing on the outdoor daybed, every moment was pure bliss. I couldn't recommend Ocean Escape Resort & Spa enough to anyone looking for a tranquil and luxurious escape. It's the perfect place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and experience the beauty of the Cook Islands.

Located directly on the beachfront, The Passage Villas is set on 1 acre of gardens and beach. It offers a swimming pool and free tropical breakfast on your first morning. We loved the quiet location, the beach was right there and we got to watch whales while cruising at the bar. It was such a beautiful view! The rooms were big and the hosts were so KIND! They offered many helpful tips and even offered us a shuttle to the market for dinner, they went above and beyond!

Located in Arutanga, a few steps from Aitutaki Beach, Matriki Beach Huts has accommodations with a garden, free private parking, a private beach area and a terrace. We absolutely loved our stay at Matriki! Although we spent four nights there, it felt far too short. Matthias is an exceptional host, full of fascinating knowledge about Aitutaki and its history, making every conversation insightful. We also joined his boat tour around the lagoon, which was truly unforgettable. Unlike other tour companies, Matthias takes his time, ensuring you can fully relax and enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed.

Located in Amuri, a few steps from Aitutaki Beach, Resort Tava'e has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a private beach area. The staff everyone there is warm and welcome, hospitable and helpful. The lagoons outside the resort are beautiful and clear enough for canoeing or snorkeling. The facilities in rooms are very new and another things are well prepared. When entering the room, that bottle in the refrigerator full with water and petals are almost everywhere on the desk, cabinets and the dressing table.
