Hotel in Arutanga
Tai Roto Bay offers spacious, authentic accommodations located on its own private beach on the southern tip from Ootu beach. It is a beach front property and safe to swim at all tides. Great relaxed place with an excellent swimming beach and a short walk to a great bar (Boat Shed) and cafe (Koru). Could not be in a more stunning location. A bit isolated from the rest of the island but that is a positive in my view, especially given the stunning location. Really friendly management and staff. Rooms cleaned daily. The breakfast was excellent. We will definitely stay here when we next visit Aitutaki.

Matriki Beach Huts provide absolute beachfront accommodations on the sunset side of the island. You can enjoy snorkeling from the beautiful white sand beach right at the front of the property. No breakfast, but LOVED the New Zealand Musli with fresh coconut and almonds. The beachfront at Matriki and snorkeling were great. Byron was super-attentive; very helpful. Loved my stay here!

Amuri
Located in Amuri in the Aitutaki region, Tai Marino - Beach Bungalows has accommodations with free private parking. Our stay at Tai Marino was amazing, absolutely perfect. Vaea and Kii are perfect hosts, there when you needed them and not when you didn't. Vaea helped organise bookings, picked us up from the airport and Kii took us out on a relaxing and utterly enjoyable lagoon cruise. lunch provided by Vaea. Both generously shared their love and knowledge of their home and made us feel very welcome. We could not find one fault even if we tried.

Arutanga
Located on its own private island, this luxury resort offers beach-front and over-water bungalows with panoramic views of Aitutaki Lagoon. Loved this place - what a get away. Private island and resort with the prettiest lagoon imagined. We would come back here in a heart beat... spent days laying on the soft sand in the warm clear water enjoying the hospitality of the staff or taking a kayak ride to another island...
Small island paradise. Quiet place, but there is fishing, kayaking, swimming snorkeling and good food. Very friendly people. This place is a true treasure. Everyone needs to go there once in their lifetime. This is Island where CBS Survivor Cook Islands filmed [castaways were on an islet in the lagoon--the crew stayed on Aitutaki]. This is an old fashioned paradise. NO fast food, but plenty of great food. Prices here are reasonable. Also take the Vaka cruise of the lagoon.
We wanted to eat well, go snorkelling and kayaking without having to spend lots of money on day excursions. This proved nearly impossible to do. I follow a vegan diet which is not an option on Aitutaki as everything is based around animal products including 'dairy'. My only options were chips (unfortunately salad usually came pre-made with mayonnaise). We did hire a water taxi via Mona Taxis which was wonderful. The owner, Daniel and his wife Lorena were great and took us to a secluded snorkelling spot and then on to One-Foot Island for the rest of the day. It cost $70 per person which was a lot cheaper than the other day cruises on offer which run at approximately $150 pp. I'm really glad we opted for Mona Taxis because we got special treatment and didn't have to share our day with lots of other people (and their children) as well as food that didn't meet our dietary requirements (Vegan), so we were able to self-cater.
The location is amazing, the room offer is really good and easy access to kayaks, bicycles etc- very self contained. The staff is friendly and try to give you the best experience, they all remember your name. The hotel is very quiet and tranquil and also located in a really good area of the lagoon. There’s a great local restaurant nearby and easy access to the main road for a bike ride. Aitutaki is beautiful and definitely worth the stay.
Right on the beach with a lovely sunset view. Great facilities in the kitchen and bathroom, which were new and very nicely done. This place is nicer than the photos might suggest. Great breakfast with extra care re our gluten free diet requirements. Lovely hammock on the beach in the shade. Truely wonderful hostess, even by Aitutaki standards.
From the moment we were collected from the airport to the day we left, we were treated as special and valued guests. The villas are exceptionally well-appointed and comfortable. While they're luxurious, they still feel like "home". A difficult thing to achieve, but Aitutaki Escape has managed to do this. Thomas and his team made every effort to make our stay memorable. We are grateful for their efforts to help us - from a delicious breakfast delivered every morning, arranging a hire car , arranging lagoon tours and helping us find somewhere to eat in the evening. The private pools are a bonus, and we made good use of them - especially in the evenings. We would highly recommend Aitutaki Escape and look forward to returning one day.
Facilities good to use although old time. Plenty of hot water.
Aitutaki Village was incredibly beautiful and the staff were exceptionally kind and helpful. We loved every minute and will be back as soon as we can. The location is perfect!
Perfect for viewing sunsets! And just a short stroll to other resorts/restaurants.
We like everything in Aitutaki, specially the people. Property is huge, beautiful view Tamari the owner is very nice and welcoming
This accommodation is in a beautiful setting overlooking the lagoon. We stayed in a beachfront cabin (but smaller / cheaper cabins with a partial beach view are available) It’s clean, spacious, has a rest area (settee & dining table), and a really well stocked kitchen (fridge / microwave / hob, free tea / coffee) hot water showers, fan and AC, pool, free use of kayaks, a BBQ and free water refills. There is a book lending library. You can also rent scooters / cars from the owner and he can organise tours. The owner is friendly and very helpful. WiFi is available from the property to purchase (like everywhere in the Cook Islands) and very good - you can use it all over Aitutaki and Rarotonga as long as you’re in a hotspot) It’s a 30minutes walk to the airport and is near 2 restaurants and a cafe however you need transport to get to the shops / grocery store. There are no buses on the island. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend it.
