I had a fantastic time at Ocean Escape Resort & Spa in the Cook Islands. Owners Jade and Barry have created an amazing boutique resort with exceptional attention to detail. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the well-stocked fridge, mezzanine bedroom, huge shower, utilities, small dishwasher, mood lighting and the beautiful pool. One of the standout features is BJ's bar, built smartly on stilts so as not to obstruct the stunning beach views from the poolside comforts. This place is a real secret treat, with amazing food and cocktails and lovely friendly staff. As a solo traveler, I felt very much looked out for, thanks to the excellent communication before and during my stay. Manager Elaine seamlessly set me up on activities and adventures all week, ensuring I had a memorable experience. Above all, it was the kind-hearted people involved who obviously love what they do that made my stay exceptional and comfortable. The eco-friendly design of the resort is impressive, ensuring minimal environmental impact while providing all modern comforts. The villas are spacious, beautifully decorated with a fresh coastal feel, and equipped with luxurious amenities. The staff, led by Elaine, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their attention to detail and personalized service made me feel truly pampered. Whether it was enjoying a local beer by the poolside BBQ or relaxing on the outdoor daybed, every moment was pure bliss. I couldn't recommend Ocean Escape Resort & Spa enough to anyone looking for a tranquil and luxurious escape. It's the perfect place to unwind, reconnect with nature, and experience the beauty of the Cook Islands.

All of the staff were sweet, helpful, all smiles and a pleasure to meet. Breakfast was great..Loved the adult pool for quiet time. Loved the cocktail hours with drinks and snacks. Room was super comfy and housekeeping was excellent. Great massage, great dance performance Monday nights. Ample seating and ample variety at breakfast. Restaurant is excellent too. Lots of activities and grounds extremely attractive and well kept. It is obviously very well managed.

10 out of 10. Amazing place next to sea. All Indonesian staff are friendly, supportive and kind. They arranged pick up from RAR airport for nominal fee but if running public buses are available since property is on ring road. A 24 hours open supermarket only 10 minutes walk away. I highly recommend KiiKii motel.

We loved the quiet location, the beach was right there and we got to watch whales while cruising at the bar. It was such a beautiful view! The rooms were big and the hosts were so KIND! They offered many helpful tips and even offered us a shuttle to the market for dinner, they went above and beyond!

Loved the people.
Loved the people. Spent 2wks on Raro and Aitutaki which was just lovely. Heaps of fun things to do on Raro but quite pricey. What we didn't like was the cost of groceries. Roosters crowing all hours and ferral dogs coming into eateries

The house was in a fantastic location, easy walking to a great sandy beach with lots of snorkelling available. we we able to swim with turtles and a great variety of reef fish everyday. Estelle was very helpful and always contactable to answer questions and give local advice on where to eat and where to go. The house is well suited for 8 adults, with plenty of different areas to enjoy. Beds were all comfortable, with mozzie nets above. Would highly recommend staying here.

We booked 9 days which just right as we missed a Tuesday with different time zones, so ended up 1week. If we'd booked 7 days it would have become 3 days because of the time difference. The supermarket was well stocked as were the many fruit and veggies stalls. I was still able to get my cappuccino fix.

We stayed in two different parts of the Island........I felt that that was a great use of our 12 days in Rarotonga!!
Muri Serene Villla, was a beautiful, well equipped, NEW VILLA, in an excellent location, though it was not on the water, like our other Villa.
We LOVED it!!!

Enjoyed the area where the boats departed for what became Aotearoa/NewZealand. We ate often at Tiare’s in Muri Beach. Muri Beach itself. Yes easy to navigate Ngatangiia. Water sports for all who require them at Muri. Church - rugby field and the weekly over water show in Muri village.

Supermarket and Polynesian Car Rentals right next door to the villa.
Recommend Vaimua Restaurant for an upmarket dinner and the Beach Hut for casual dining. A lunch at the Maia Gardens is a must which is in walking distance of the villa. Local bus was great to get around on which stops outside the supermarket. It was a great location.
Would recommend the snorkelling to see the turtles with the sea scooters. Best way to travel the island is on a scooter.

You come here to relax and Island gives you relaxation. No one is in a hurry. No one rushes or pushes. Life moves on at an easy pace. They call it Island Time. Don't be afraid to try out new eating places including Food Vans. Had best fish burgers made from fresh locally caught Mahi Mahi. Great tasting food at cheap prices. Try the Trader Jacks, The Beach Hut and Charlies for lunch. A little upmarket? Then try Vaima Restaurant for dinner. Enjoy your stay in Island Time mode. Life here is like 30 years behind our hustle and bustle at home. The island is also home to the most laid back dogs in the world. One word of warning. Don't get the dogs' attention because they'll follow you home. Kia Orana !

Arorangi is a great spot as it is short walk to beach and also has access to luxury resorts. It is very close to the airport & Close to hospital, cafes, restaurants and personal care facilities - nails / hair / massage.
Recommend car hire to get around the Island to access activities etc.
We ate at restaurants and also eateries such as bakeries. Bakery near airport highly recommended as well as Spaghetti Hut - great Italian.
we hiked up mount Te rua manga - the needle and also a smaller mountain in arorangi - great views!
Rarotonga still has the lovely undeveloped rural feel to it

Rarotonga is great. Avarua not so much.
Rarotonga is great. Avarua not so much. It is fairly industrial in nature, and there really is not much to do. The Punanga Nui Market is open 8-2 a few days a week, and on Saturday is expanded. This is about the only thing to do in town, and after maybe 30-45 min you're done. There is a fair amount of traffic, few sidewalks (be careful walking around!), and most things close (including restaurants) at 15:00 or 16:00. It's kind of dirty and not very pretty. There are too many other places to go on the island that are much nicer!

Been here before and is lovely shallow lagoon easy for swimming & kayaking with some fish to see snorkelling.
This time there is a shocking amount of sea algae in the water and covering the beach. Is evidently a common problem due to run off from resorts. Was okay either side of high tide.
